Marketing Manager

PG Glass was my client at Media By Storm for

2 years. When the Marketing Person left, I was

offered the position of Senior Marketing Co-

Ordinator. February 2005 I was promoted to

Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities included : Managing the Brand

and ensuring Logos and Brand standards are

adhered to at all times. Dealt with over 120

Fitment Centres on a daily basis. All Marketing,

Media & Creative was done in house – I was

responsible for TV ad production, script writing

& translation etc., TV planning and buying. I

assisted with creative & approval of all local

Fitment Centres’ advertising. Designed and

approved corporate clothing & corporate

gifts. Arranged all Sales Department’s social

events, i.e. golf days, movie nights, cricket,

theatre etc. Responsible for all vehicle and

Fitment Centre signage. Designed and

developed PG Glass, PG Building Glass,

Shatterprufe & PG Africa desk pads, calendars

and diaries. Normal day to day admin. Organise

PG Glass’ Network (Franchisees & JV’s) annual

conference & PG Glass Fitter of the Year

competition. Responsible for annual marketing

budget for PG Glass. Designed and managed

exhibitions stands i.e. IISA (Insurance Institute

of SA), Decorex, Auto Africa (JIMS), Design

Indaba.

I was the contact person between the Network &

Lightstone regarding the NPS programme.

Responsible for the PG Group Quarterly

Newsletter, co-ordinating content, design,

proofreading and distribution.

Assisted with Marketing initiatives for the rest

of the PG Group Divisions i.e. Building Glass

Division (PG SmartGlass), Shatterprufe,

Managed PG Glass' Corporate responsibility

initiative “PG Helping Hands”. This initiative

was extended to the entire Network and had to

include not just donating money but physical

contributions ie planting vegetable gardens,

painting of nursery schools and all initiatives

had to be sustainable.

I had 1 person, the Marketing Graduate

reporting directly to me and overseeing and

supported a Department of 7 staff members.

The communications & internal training

department forms part of the PG Marketing

department. I was responsible for the scheduling

of training as well as organising travelling &

accommodation arrangements.
