In Roots I worked as an Associate Engineer in manufacturing engineering department.

Nature of Job/Responsibilities:

Process feasibility review for newly released part / assembly drawings.

Development of new / modification of existing Equipment’s/Tools/Fixtures required for new product development.

Development of Process control documents such as Process flow chart, PFMEA, Control plan, Job instruction, Time study, etc.

Process validation, Process capability study, Time study for newly developed facility

Ensuring the completion of projects as per APQP needs.

Working towards productivity and quality improvement through KAIZEN activities, 5’S and implementation of POKA-YOKE, Cost saving projects.

As a CFT member I am also responsible for maintaining of existing facilities available for regular production consisting of trouble shooting of Assembly line issues, Revalidation, Time study, etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Development / Commissioning of assembly line for Horn supplied to Eiecher Volvo, Scania, Caterpillar, Nissan, Bosch and Other Export and Replacement Markets and Battery Disconnector Switch Project Injection Molding components.

Cost saving project on an Injection molding component by reducing the Process related time delays, Short mold issue of components, Runner Weight, Wastage elimination, leading to saving of INR 50,000 per month.

Eliminated Customer related incident by improving the existing process to new process with Cycle Time consideration.

Reduced defect cost in Throttle position sensor assembly line from 0.35% to 0.05% by doing continues improvement

Reduced defect cost in temperature sensor line from 0.16% to 0.12%

Taken responsibility of 8D leader for the 3 customer cases and analyzed, arrested, eliminated the root cause with in the time line.

Successfully commissioned and implemented new injection molding machine in temperature sensor line.

Increased the Value stream Quality maturity level from 1 to 2.5 out of 3 by implementing new procedures

Taken responsibility of Sports committee secretary and successfully conducted events.

Optimized the Cycle time in Temperature sensor line by MTM study

Improved the production capacity up to 8000 pieces per month as per plant requirement.
