CLINICAL FELLOWSHIP IN SPINE SURGERY:

I had the Opportunity to work as a Spine Fellow under Dr.ARVIND BHAVE, Head Of Department Of Spine,Deenanath Mangeshar Hospital Pune for a period of 1 month in March 2018. I had the opportunity to interact with other spine surgeons like Dr.Suneel Nadkarni, Dr.Amol Rege, Dr.Pai Raiturkar & Dr.Ashutosh Sabnis.

I had exposure to level of first assistant in various Spine procedures like Laminectomies, Discectomies, Spinal instrumentation & Fusions in Cervical, Thoracic & Lumbar Spine. Also had exposure in Endoscopic Spine Procedures. (Log book enclosed)

I have been trained to the level of Registrar / Senior Resident in the department of Orthopedics under guidance of blend of Orthopaedic surgeons headed by renowned surgeon Dr. C.KAMARAJ.

I have taken regular classes for orthopaedic speciality for undergraduate & post graduate students in KAMS RC medical college.

DNB ORTHOPAEDICS / JUNIOR RESIDENT (AUGUST 2012- AUGUST 2014)(2years) : PUSHPAGIRI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES & RESEARCH CENTRE, THIRUVALLA, KERALA.

This is a MCI recognized medical college with a 600 bed superspeciality hospital with all major departments located in the heart of Thiruvalla,Kerala. The department headed by Dr. P S JOHN comprised of a blend of Orthopaedics surgeons, Trauma surgeons and allied healthcare professionals who provide trauma surgery and specialized Orthopaedic services and undertake research projects in Orthopaedics and Traumatology. I had undergone full time, structured training in various specialties of Orthopedics namely Trauma, Hand surgery, Adult reconstructive surgery, Arthroscopy and sports medicine, General Orthopedics and Pediatric Orthopaedics. I had an opportunity to work under Professor emeritus & Chief Dr. VERGHESE CHACKO in the department of pediatric orthopedics. I had an opportunity to interact with Orthopaedic peers during the course of my training.

Training in taking an adequate history of patients, doing a thorough physical examination and directing specific investigations, offering a differential diagnosis, discussing various modes of treatment and communicating with the patients and their relatives.

Training to perform minor and major Orthopaedics surgical procedures and management of Orthopaedic emergencies.

Taking active part in paper presentations, organizing symposiums, Journal club meetings and CME programs as part of the postgraduate training.

My Orthopaedics research project during my DNB training under thesis guide Dr. SAMSON S EDAYALAMURIYIL was titled “Comparative study of Outcome of Dynamic Condylar Screw & Proximal Femoral Nail in management of Subtrochanteric fractures of Proximal Femur” has been accepted by National board (NBE).
