As the Ships Oil King I was responsible for the storage, testing, transfer, and onload of over 457,000 gallons of F-76 diesel fuel marine, 20,000 gallons of JP-8 jet fuel, and maintenance (corrective and planned), on the sub systems attached to each type of fuel. Ran numerous drills as an ETT member for EOCC and EOSS to ensure proper approach to casualties and system alignments. I achieved 4 Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals while on tour aboard USS Roosevelt.

GAS TURBINE “A” SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR, surface warfare officer school unit.
Responsible for over 1000 students a year to instruct and facilitate training on Gas Turbine Theory, Mechanics, and Maintenance on an Allison 501-K17 Gas Turbine Generator, and GE LM2500 gas turbine engines, and all auxiliary support systems including but not limited to lube oil pumps, coolers, low pressure air compressors, and fuel oil pumps. While on duty at SWOSU, I had an 90% graduation rate, and qualified Master Training Specialist, and ultimately earning 2 Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

As the Ships Oil King / Engine room Lead Petty Officer I was responsible to my Chief petty officer for accountability of our junior sailors, operation, maintenance and upkeep of 2 lube oil purifiers, 4 fuel oil transfer pumps, 4 fuel oil service pumps, fuel onload projection, testing, and storage. My team consisted of 5 sailors in the engine room, and 3 in the oil lab, in which we maintained 2 LM2500 gas turbine engines, 1 Rolls-Royce 501-k34 gas turbine generator and all of its auxiliary equipment, which include, transducers, lube oil heaters, salt water pumps (cooling medium), and various other support equipment.

GAS TURBINE SHOP PLANNER / SCHEDULER, SWRMC TURBINE SHOP.
While on duty at Southwestern Regional Maintenance center, I was 1 of 3 in the planning/scheduling department for the Gas Turbine repair and overhaul shop. This duty included ordering parts and planning repair, maintenance and overhaul for the teams on every Gas turbine ship on 32nd street San Diego.

Facilities Maintenance Technician, AECOM. While serving as one of the facilities maintenance technicians, I would often play a supporting role to my co-workers and help them complete tasks that were divided at the beginning of the shift. The variety of work was repairing bay doors, replacing, overhauling and maintaining overhead cranes, pumps, and conveyors. Also, if the occasional toilet or urinal would break, I would be there to fix it.

Traveled through Central, Southern, Northern Illinois and east Iowa to various businesses including Hospitals, Schools, Munition bases and Pet food manufacturing to maintain, test, operate and overhaul Springfield, and Cleaver-Brooks Firetube boilers. Swapped, and repaired boiler feed water pumps, 24v controls, and repaired/installed refractory on new and used boilers.

Maintain, operate, various pieces of equipment including, Roots blower, Howden compressor, and 2 SOLAR Centaur 40 gas turbine Generators. Completed 1 turbine package change out with no re-work required, and within the recommended time slot given my upper management. Daily readings are taken to track and ensure temperatures and pressure are maintained within suitable allowable ranges for operation. Managed electrical power to 2400 acre landfill distributing 5kv of power stepped down from 25kv. Installing, replacing, and programing Flex I/O for the 24v controls of Gas Turbines / Compressor Packages

When I have time to myself, most of it is spent with my daughters. We do a variety of activities such as drawing, sculpting, biking, and hiking. When they need to learn something, I love going into detail on the proper ways of completing a task. If time with my daughters is temporarily over, I will rebuild old computers, work on my car, or do some yard work just to keep busy.
