DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Policies, Processes & Procedures
Follows all functional policies, processes, procedures, systems and controls as well as the required safety regulations and practices, in order to protect personnel, equipment and the plant as a whole, whilst fulfilling all relevant procedural/legislative requirements and delivering a quality, cost-effective and consistent service.
Day-to-Day Operations
Carries out day-to-day tasks relating to planned preventative and corrective maintenance on instruments and test equipment in the respective Operations Centre, receiving instruction from the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor, and ensuring that work processes are implemented as designed and in accordance with OEM requirements.
Supports the Instrumentation Technicians, and provides guidance when required to ensure successful work completion.
Supports the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor with the effective implementation of the maintenance plans, highlighting deviations from plan to the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor as appropriate, in order to ensure all instruments and test equipment are well maintained and to optimize availability.
Complies with relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls in order to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
Maintenance and Repair Work
Performs the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of indicating, recording and controlling instruments and test equipment, including complex systems used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition, using precision instruments, and hand tools.
Disassembles malfunctioning instruments or test equipment, and examines and tests mechanisms and circuitry for defects.
Provides reports on the status of work activities and highlight any abnormalities or incidents as required to the Supervisor to ensure mitigation plans are implemented in a timely manner.
Investigates equipment failures and difficult-to-diagnose faulty operations and make recommendations in a timely manner.
Records data on the maintenance system in order to keep up-to-date records on maintenance activities.
Carries out proper housekeeping as per EGA standards (5s) after completion of any maintenance activity in order to allow timely return to service.
Equipment Performance Monitoring
Inspects instruments and test equipment periodically, and adjusts calibration to ensure they are functioning within specified standards.
Tests and inspects the accuracy of flow-meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers and other indicating, recording or controlling instruments to locate defective components in systems using test equipment.
Plans test/calibration programs for instruments and tool in order to ensure that they are monitored in a timely manner, and thus reducing potential downtime.
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for a systematic and analytical approach in the troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and eventual repair of discrete Plant instruments as well as looped systems.
Makes and implements revisions on existing monitoring and control systems were such revisions are deemed necessary and can contribute to better system performance.
