Director – Head of Investment Technologies 01/2015 - 05/2020

Responsible for delivering best-in-class technology for all Front, Middle and Back Office products and functions that support $75 Billion in assets under management. Working directly for the CIO, this role created and drove the technology road map and multi-year plan for services provided by the Technology Organization. Directly managed a team of 35 resources consisting of senior application developers and administrative personnel.

Architected and led the Firm’s four-year transition to technology modernization:

Cloud Migration – led the modernization of traditional desktop installed applications from single purpose functions to robust web-based offerings. Altered development process by reinventing the end product instead of simply rewriting functionality. Leveraged Amazon’s AWS environment and functions as the basis for all solutions. Introduced reusable microservices via lambda functions, instituting modern development tools including Python, ReactJS, GraphQL.

Digital Work Place – drove the Firm’s digital transformation and strategy through the introduction and implementation of new emerging technologies. Migrated to Office 365, Slack, Zoom and other tools to enable an anywhere connected environment and create a superior foundation for the future. Moved away from stagnated communication and collaboration tools of the past, despite initial internal resistance. As a result of forward thinking, these tools ultimately facilitated a seamless transition to a remote work environment with the onset of COVID-19.

Enterprise Data Hub – guided dispersed data repositories from years of legacy accumulation into a centralized system of record utilizing Snowflake. Ultimately, this resulted in the creation of the golden record, ensuring complete data integrity and a single source of truth. End users utilize Sigma Software and Power BI as the business intelligence tools.

Developed, enhanced and supported all legacy production applications included Bloomberg, Charles River, Eagle Pace & Star, FactSet, Wilshire Axiom and Atlas. Created many custom applications that supported specific business unit needs.

Drove technology solution delivery for all mission critical Sales and Service applications which supported the Annuity Business, including internet and intranet, business-to-business e-commerce, CRM and other management systems.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and projects. Specifically, managed a $50M program consisting of 18 separate requirements streams delivering over 10,000 business requirements on-time.

Mitigated project risks via proactive transparent communication including compliance reporting requirements related to Know Your Client (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering and State specific legal mandates.

Reinvented the entire requirements process with improvements within the Business Analysis functions. Transitioned each team member to fulfill a more cooperative specialist role, focusing employee training on improving communication and soft skills with the business partners. Resulted in more efficient business processes and ensured optimum performance of elicitation. Validated by a 10% decrease in requirement efforts.

Introduced Business Analyst Certification (CBAP) as a core competency and as a result, the process was modified to reduce overall durations by greater than 10%. Team had the largest number of certified analysts at Prudential.

Vice President - Senior Program Manager 01/2009-07/2010

Served as a senior member of the Project Management Office, directly responsible for delivering large projects for Managed Account Solutions supporting Annuities, Separately Managed and WRAP accounts. Responsible for several Vice Presidents and their resources that conceived, planned, designed and delivered extremely complex financial applications. Specific projects delivered included a new web based financial modeling tools, trading, client proposal and performance reporting applications.

Managed complex projects involving the conversion of assets from external sources to Bank of New York Applications to ensure no loss of data and zero financial impact to the client base.

Introduced standard, structured Software Development Life Cycle methodology to expand upon an immature process therefore providing a consistent structured approach to all responsible projects. Resulted in risks and issues being acknowledged and resolved within the phase identified.

Vice President – Program Manager 2005-2008

Chief Principal responsible for all technology aspects related to the Asset Management World Wide Liquidity Business Unit. Defined product requirements and managed the build and implementation of the “Global Cash Portal”, an award-winning web site used by institutional clients to execute transactions and view account information for liquidity investment products. Created two marketing websites supporting the international business. Managed multiple resources located in the US, Luxembourg and India.

Expanded an Internet based On-line Trading Application utilized internationally to trade over $4 Billion daily. Applied several major enhancements including creating a “hot” Disaster Recovery site; upgrading the infrastructure platform and hardware. Introduced the use of new Web 2.0 technologies within the application.

Added a variety of functionality enhancements driven by changing business priorities and ensured site was constantly available to end users. As a result, internet trading volume doubled, manual trading was reduced in the operations centers and JP Morgan saved $500,000 annually. Managed multi-million-dollar budgets within 1% of target.

Supported regulatory reporting requirements for BASEL II, Know Your Client (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (ALM) initiatives.

Coordinated with Senior Business Leaders to clearly define short and long-term objectives for projects / platforms. Led the implementation plans, oversaw execution and managed to ensure successful delivery of the program utilizing a formal project life cycle methodology.

Implemented a global Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) initiative which encompassed several separate lines of business via Salesforce.com. The end result was client data sharing and potential for sales leads across different product groups.
