Performed flare system modeling for the entire flare network system for various global scenarios using Flarenet software.

Performed process simulation for the crude unit, for modifications to process light crude feedstock at Lion Oil in El Dorado, AR. Case studied screened variety options to achieve design objectives. Identify and specify equipment (such as distillation towers, heat exchangers, and separator vessels), piping, safeguarding, and instruments to be changed. Generated heat and material balances, PFDs, and P&IDs, equipment data sheets, etc. Reviewed detailed equipment data provided by vendors.

Updated Global Relief Scenario spreadsheets and evaluated Low Pressure and High-Pressure Flare systems at Lion Oil. Case studies were completed using Aspen’s Flare System Analyzer software. Back pressures were checked for HP and LP flare PSVs discharging during the controlling relief events. Thermal radiation impacts, sizing of flare tips, and sizing of two (2) main knock out drums were checked. Provided summary of findings and recommendations.

Performed variety of PSV studies, mitigation scoping, and flare header system modeling and debottlenecking for Phillips 66 Appliance Refinery for most of the units in the past 10 years, including Visual Flow simulation for flare header systems, PSV inlet piping, relief load scenario study, release dispersion modeling, flare radiations, and flare knockout drum sizing.

Developed a PRO-II model for the ultra-low sulfur diesel project for Chalmette Refining, based on out of service unit with medications equipment. Developed front-end and detailed engineering design packages, including PFDs, Heat Material Balances for multiple cases, P&IDs, equipment and instrument specifications, PSV validations. The detailed design directly leads to filed construction.

Built a hydraulic model using SINET software from scratch for the entire fire water system of Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery. This model has been constantly maintained up to current by BRIS Engineering. Performed a variety of case studies for improving the system.

Modeled the entire flare header system for the Markwest LPG plant Phases I and II at Ohio for the global scenarios using HYSYS software.

Performed checking for the Chevron Pipeline Empire PSV study project, including relief scenario studies, relief device evaluations, mitigation scoping, and iPRSM documentation.

Performed variety of safeguarding studies for Motiva Norco and Convent Refineries for most of the units during years 2004-2009, including scenario relief study, Visual Flow flare header modeling, mitigation scoping, and PPM database updating.

Involved in conceptual design of a new Condensate Splitter Facility for Castleton Commodities International (CCI) in Corpus Christi, TX. Performed cold eye review of process simulation and process design packages. The facility was designed to process 100,000 BPD condensate blend in two units to produce LPG, naphtha, jet fuel, kerosene, and other heavier products.

Performed HYSYS process simulation for an amine absorber system for additional fuel gas treating from hot well and other sour streams at Valero Meraux, LA Refinery. The Flare Gas Recovery system used Hi-Jet technology. Determined modifications required for all equipment in the amine system required for the new design case, including replacing amine absorber internals.

At Valero McKee Refinery in Sun Ray, TX reviewed and checked the process design package and process simulation calculations for a new liquid ring compressor flare gas recovery system. Performed HYSYS simulations for the sour water stripper (SWS) system for the project.

As part of a capacity study for Ergon Refining in Vicksburg, MS to identifying major unit debottlenecks in the Crude Unit, performed process simulation study using HYSYS.

Process engineering and design of an emergency relief gas caustic scrubber system for Chevron Oronite Company, Belle Chasse, LA. Performed PRO-II simulation with electrolyze package for the process system. Provided heat and material balance and equipment design data.

Performed detailed design for a new super-surge three phase separator for the amine regeneration process at the Motiva Enterprises Norco LA Refinery.

Performed PRO-II simulation for a FCCU Main Fractionator with gas plant. Documented potential overpressure scenarios as well as required relief load and sized the relief devices.

Performed process simulation using HYSYS, for a Deisopentanizer column in the Crude Unit at Marathon’s Garyville LA Refinery. Developed various options to increase the unit throughputs to different levels.

Process engineer in support of FCCU gas plant projects at two (2) Sunoco refineries (Girard Point, Philadelphia; and Eagle Point, New Jersey). Performed process simulations of Main Fractionators and gas plants using PRO-II and HYSYS for variety of cases.
