URECA Summer Research Program At Stony Brook University, NY (05/26/2020- 07/31/2020)

Title: Impact of Pulmonary Hypertension and Right Ventricular Dysfunction on Survival and Neurologic

Outcomes in Adults with In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest.

10 week research program, where I will be analyzing patients’ echocardiograms and find variables that lead to cardiac arrest.

The purpose of the study is to identify the impact of elevated pulmonary artery pressures and right ventricular (RV) systolic dysfunction, as identified on echocardiography, on mortality and neurologic outcomes in adults with in-hospital cardiac arrest (CA).

We hypothesize that patients with pulmonary hypertension and RV dysfunction based on echocardiography would have poor outcomes in terms of (1) mortality, (2) neurological function, and (3) quality of life.

CARDIAC ARREST RESEARCH AT STONY BROOK HOSPITAL, NY (07/22/2019- Current)

Title- Predictors of in-hospital cardiac arrest

Review charts of demographics, including pre-admission diagnosis, vital signs and laboratory studies of pre and post cardiac arrest patients

-Learned the presence of various cancer cells in the body and procedure for removal of basal cell, squamous cell, and Melanoma cancer cells under local anesthesia. Furthermore, observing office surgeries such as lipoma removal was observed.

-Learned techniques of after care of wounds, which can be done using antibiotic creams, washing vigorously using soap water to avoid formation of biofilm, Silver nitrate, sun block Etc.

-Observed patients who underwent plastic surgery such as re-attachment of toe, Tendon sheath cyst, and skin grafting.

-Observed patients who were injected Botox and Restylane as fillers on facial areas.
