The Style Tribal jewelry business, Port Elizabeth.

December 2016-current time

After finishing High school and having to start paying more expenses such as petrol and high food wages I wanted to start a business in order to have more money a month without asking my parents. The idea came about when I saw jewelry that was sold in shops with a high cost price that I knew I could make myself and sell for a lower price. I started making the jewelry at home and selling it to my close family and friends and the business started growing from there as the demand grew more and more. The growth led me to begin an online shop through the use of Instagram. I received many orders from across the country and started to learn allot from working with various types of customers. The business is a big success and provided me with more than enough funds to be able to live a comfortable student life while trying to attain my degree.

Liane’s bakery bits baking company, Port Elizabeth.

September 2020-current time

During the Covid-19 times the financial pressure was getting to allot of people. I was doing all my classes online in order to attain my honours degree and was home 24/7 from the 25rd of March till the end of 2020. I knew I had to start another business due to jobs being scarce in the area and people were losing their jobs on a constant. My jewelry business was taking a back seat as jewelry was not such a dire product to be in these difficult times. Food on the other hand was a high priority product for everyone and something that would be needed all the time. I have received numerous compliments on baking various baked goods during the lockdown period and knew that was a passion of mine I would never get tired of doing. The Liane’s bakery bits business then came alive and I had so much success that I found myself behind the oven for 8 hours per day with no assistance as all my family members where away working.
