PROJECT DETAILS:
Master Gas Pipeline Phase II, project division (Organization code – 30030225 Central Area Pipeline Unit) which constructed 46” OD pipeline with total length more than 226 km.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Worked as a Saudi Aramco PMT Instrument and Control Engineer through SMP Contractor for Master Gas Pipeline Phase II Project assigned to Central package (East West Qassim Gas Pipeline).
Was responsible for managing the LSTK contractor for Detail Design, Project Construction, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning & Start Up activities.
Closely follow-up the plan/Expedite pending Tasks, Engineering Deliverables with Main EPC Contractor(Arkad) & Design Contractor (Atkins) to meet the actual Progress.
Closely follow up with main contractor and design contractor for all phases of engineering deliverable like 30% design, 60% design, 90% design and then final Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
Coordinate with other technical departments of Saudi Aramco in case of critical issues faced during design stages.
Review & Approval of Detail Design Drawings, Instrument Specifications from main design contractor and close co-ordination with them for any Design discrepancies.
Close follow up with contractor to ensure the project schedule and quality are met. Managing the construction activities, participating in daily and weekly progress meetings.

Monitoring instrumentation installation and procurement activities of EPC Contractor. Identify and present resolution of design and field installation problems.

Power generation Division includes Installation of 7 GE Turbines Frame 7E ( Simple Cycle ) and 4 GE Turbines Frame 7E( Co-Generation ), The power generation capacity of these turbines was more than 1 Giga Watt (GW), a 50-kilometer 230 kilo volt (KV) transmission line, and the associated electrical and non-electrical utilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
I was assigned as a Saudi Aramco PMT Instrument and Control Engineer through SMP Contractor for Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) project in Power Generation Division.
My main responsibilities were to take care of all the instrumentation activities like design review, documentation, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
Close coordination with EPC Contractor (Samsung) in design preparation for a resolution of technical issues.
Review detailed design and make sure that Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards are followed by EPC Contractor.
Worked with Samsung (EPC Contractor), DCS and ESD Vendor (Yokogawa) and Turbines Vendor (GE) for Factory Acceptance Test of DCS, ESD and Mark Vie Control System of GE.
Worked with Samsung (EPC Contractor), DCS and ESD Vendor (Yokogawa) and Turbines Vendor (GE) for integration between DCS System (Centum VP system of Yokogawa) and Mark Vie Control System of GE.
Prepare Company response for Contractor Transmittals/TQ’s of project instrumentation and control system documents. Review and approval of contractor IFC Drawings, Material Requisitions, NMR, Technical documents and resolve Contractor technical queries for instrumentation items.
Involved in the FAT, SAT, calibration and commissioning of different types of analyzers at site.
Monitor site activities like instrument calibration, installation, functional test, loop test and commissioning of field instrumentation and vendor instrumentation.
Worked with contractor and vendor for the integration of different system with DCS system like Vibration Monitoring system, Power Monitoring system, Fire Alarm system, Gas Detection system, Continuous Emission Monitoring System.
Review pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and make sure that these are complying with Saudi Aramco standards.
Worked with Contractor, Vendors and Proponent team for commissioning and start up of complete system.
Organize PMCC walkthrough with Contractor and Proponent and do further follow ups with Contractor to close the punches in Saudi Aramco MPCS (Mechanical Performance and Close out system) to deliver the required PMCC sign off as per schedule.
B)OLAYAN DESCON ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY :
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation of basic engineering documents of instruments and control system like Control System Philosophy, Control System Specification (DCS, RTU, SCADA, PMS), IO list, Instrument Index, Logic Narrative, Logic Diagrams, Cause and Effect Diagrams, System Architect Diagram, Instrument Cables Block diagram, Instrument Specification Sheets, Instrument Installation Schedules, Instrument Point and line, Instrument interconnection diagrams, Instrument Cable Routing, Instrument Cable Schedule, Junction box wiring
Coordination with other disciplines for instrument related issues like input to P&ID’s, input to electrical one line diagrams input to piping layouts, control room layouts, cable tray layouts
Preparation of material and purchase requisitions, package system specifications
Technical clarification meetings with the vendor and client
Vendor documents review, packages review, details engineering design review, kick off meeting
Review the vendors' proposals, submitted technical queries, Evaluating the vendors' offers technically and Preparing the TBA (technical bid analysis) for all instrument devices
Coordinate with the Instrument Construction Manager / Project Engineer for update on status of IFC drawings, shop drawings, material receipt and construction schedule.
Supervise all instrument construction activities at site including interfaces with other disciplines and subcontractor works.
Erection and Installation of impulse pipes, junction boxes, cable trays, cable ducts, conduits, control room panels, lying of cables and installation of various field instruments.
Involved in calibration of all types of instruments such as Rosemount, Yokogawa, Honeywell, ABB,E&H transmitters, switches, temperature elements, pressure elements etc. Familiar with SMART Transmitter, Switches, Control Valves, I/P Converters, Positioners, Gauges, Gas Detectors, Thermocouples and Process Control Related Instruments.
Identify any changes to the contractual scope of work and specifications which have schedule and cost impacts and closely monitor all revised drawings and specifications and accordingly request for necessary job instructions / variation order packages.
Identify any major constraints affecting construction progress and bring them to the immediate attention of the construction manager.
Maintain a daily progress record and material utilization record and report potential shortages to the construction manager on regular basis.
Maintain peer level contacts with clients and subcontractors for the resolution of site queries, deviations, concession requests, etc.
Ensure proper preservation of the equipment in accordance with the approved project preservation procedures and vendors recommendations.
Participate in constructability review meetings with engineering, PMT, Yard, Subcontractor and Client.
Review the Project Planning Package to establish the sequence, duration and weights of activities and the corresponding manpower requirements.
Maintain marked-up as-built drawings on a daily basis
