I am a qualified fitter with 27 years’ experience in the engineering and steel industry. I have worked in various areas of production, including and not limited to setting up a range of manufacturing machinery with the likes of single and multi-die machines, as well as assembly, conducting quality checks, maintenance and safety
procedures during projects. My experience in Quality control has ensured a high-quality standard of work with each production line, making excellence a priority. I have undergone Safety training, which motivated me to
improve the safety procedures and policies in various areas of the manufacturing process ensuring I take the utmost precaution and due care with each task and
procedure. Iam able to work independently as well as alongside other team members to implement numerous improvements in quality, safety, and enhancement of lead time for production. During my experience, I trained new employees in all areas of the production line, standard work safety, and other job functions.

Duties
As a qualified fitter my role involved installing, maintaining, setting-up and repairing of machinery and equipment in the fastening and steel industry. Responsible for setting up of single-die and multi-die cold-heading machinery for the production of fastening tools and other metal parts. I was required to construct and assemble component parts for these machinery, marking off material to scale according to precise measurements from the blueprints and other engineering drawings. The metal is then shaped into it’s final form through the use of grinding machinery, lathe, honing and drilling in order to perform pneumatic extrusion. I performed on the job maintenance during the production process ensuring the machinery operates at it maximum capacity to meet deadlines. I conducted quality control checks in accordance with 9002 bureau, to ensure a high quality standard is maintained in each production line through the use of Vernier micro-metre gauges and other precision measuring equipment. Duties
My role entailed designing sketches, marking up and creating scaled mechanical drawings for the manufacturing of medical equipment. I was also frequently required to take on the role of Warehouse Supervisor, overseeing staff and various procedures in the manufacturing process.
