Fully qualified and very experienced Instrument Commissioning and Maintenance Technician.
Through my career so far, I have managed to balance Commissioning and Maintenance to better my knowledge and understanding of many Instrumentation and control systems and equipment. Having best of both sides of Instrumentation, I have been exposed to the up and coming technologies at the forefront of Oil and Gas Engineering philosophies such as wireless control systems, as well as earlier pneumatic control systems and philosophies.
I am passionate about engineering and strive to be at the front of the driving force of Oil and gas technologies and systems learning as much as possible on the way.
I am currently working under Petrofac as an Instrument Technician (maintenance) for Total E&P UK – North Alwyn.
My latest commissioning role and most satisfying job in my career so far, was for BP on the Clair Ridge Project, I had a great exposure to new control designs and philosophies, utilising Foundation Field bus and the ever improving and reliable Delta V HART system incorporating wireless and hard wired communications and transmission, along with a great health and safety culture which I have always adopted on every asset I’ve visited.
Prior to this my commissioning experience extends to the Montrose Alpha – MONARB Project for 15 months and the Gryphon Alpha (Compression CPU Modification) reporting directly to the Lead ICSS and Instrument Commissioning Technicians along with Commissioning Managers and Engineers across all trades. Using my knowledge of offshore health & safety legislation I also prepared work permits (ECOW/ ISSOW/ P-vision), task risk assessments and safety checklists as well as leading tool box talks.
I possess the competence and confidence to work as an individual and have done so on both day and night shift in commissioning and maintenance roles, but also enjoy working as part of a team, supporting others in achieving a common goal. I am an excellent communicator and have a good working relationship with colleagues across all departments.
I am extremely self motivated and are driven by targets and deadlines, combined with a can-do attitude I ensure I put 100% into all tasks.
