Human Resources at Harper College:
Please consider my application for the One Stop Center Advocate position. I am a graduate of Indiana University; with a strong background in Student Services, Customer Service, and Education.
My University Ambassador position focused on planning and providing informative departmental tours to prospective students and families. In many cases I was the first point of contact a student had with the University, and therefore, played a large role in recruiting students. Prospective students had many questions and concerns during University visits, and as a representative of the University, it was my goal to not only provide accurate information, but to interact with empathy, patience, and tact.
In my current position as Assistant Head of School for Guidepost Montessori, my main responsibility is to drive enrollment and marketing efforts. This is done through a variety of channels, including outbound communication, virtual events, and social media efforts. I am proud to say that I have exceeded my enrollment goals set by the School Success team, and am currently overseeing the school’s licensing and compliance process. In addition to this, I am also responsible for helping establish the culture between staff and families.
Something that sets me apart from other applicants, is my experience working for the Department of Defense as a Tour Guide, Concierge, and Front Desk Agent at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. This position allowed me to teach in an alternative setting with alternative methods. I was able to create informative guided tour experiences for individuals from all over the globe, including members of NATO and AFRICOM conferences. In addition, I was lucky enough to travel to 20 different countries all over Europe, Africa, and Asia where I interacted with individuals from different backgrounds and mindsets. This experience gave me a fresh understanding of people, which I believe lends very well to working with a diverse group of students.
While I have enjoyed my time with Guidepost Montessori, I have greatly missed sharing my love of Art and Design with prospective students.. During my time at the Academy, I truly felt I made a difference when a student found their perfect niche.
