• Responsibility for ship's training room and maintenance of the equipment

• Coordinate and implement management and crew training

• Support employee recognition and incentive programs

• Maintain training records and tracking data required for talent management and HR administration

• Demonstrate concern for guest wellbeing

• Deal with operational and administrative problems and escalate where necessary

• Proactively communicate with HRM regarding training issues

• Be visible “out on the floor” and approachable to managers and crew

• Understand of all training materials to ensure that they are used effectively.

• Work with General Manager, Safety Officer, Environmental Officer, Security Officer, Staff Captain and Doctor to weekly update and publish ship's training schedule

• Generate participation rosters for training for record keeping purposes

• Facilitate training and refresher courses for all crew according to Regent standards

• Assist HODs to incorporate Regent Guest Service Standards of behaviour in daily work

• Recommend changes to existing training programs and develop new material for continuous improvement

• Assist with departmental training upon request

Administrative

• Prepare the trainings schedules for upcoming cruises in cooperation with HODs

• Attend Shipboard Hotel Ops Meetings to discuss issues and make recommendations

• Record training participation in shipboard electronic filing system

• Facilitate and oversee the Regent Service Training Certifications

• Stay up to date with the contents in the Regent VOM (Vessel Operation Manager) and HROM (Human Resources Operation Manager) manuals

• Ensures Training and Development Manager boards are up to date with pertinent crew information Safety
