My duties included doing weekly lesson plans, monthly goals, helping to open or close the school, preparing and serving meals for the children, keeping my classroom clean and organized, building string relationships with my students and their parents.

All my lesson plans were based on Creative Curriculum which is all about experiences and allowing the children to discover on their own, but also based on the children’s interest. For example, if the class is discussing flowers and the activity is to create their own flower. The children are given all the materials they need and are encouraged to creative their own flower with minimal help, but the teacher is still there to talk with them about what they are doing.

Monthly goals were made for each individual child based on the Creative Curriculum objectives that I wanted to encourage the student and parent to work with me. Centers in the classroom were rotated based on the theme and the children’s interest for that week.
