Experience

Registered Nurse in state of Ohio from July 2000 through current

Currently working as registered nurse at Windsor Medical Center. Taking care of mostly elderly population with caring and compassion. Providing multiple treatments and therapies as needed and ordered by physician.

Registered Nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital; October 2003 until March 2020;

inpatient; 1 year as float nurse going to PICU, NICU, Burns, oncology, regular units

Outpatient as employee health nurse for 10 months (temporary position); gave immunizations to employees, did new employee physicals, gave flu vaccines to several hundred employees, did drug testing, taught smoking cessation

Inpatient; 6 years on infant/toddler medical surgical unit

Outpatient; 8.5 years in neurodevelopmental science center; mainly developmental patients/families

Also worked as a Registered Nurse at Aultman Hospital from August 2000 until October 2003 as inpatient ortho and rehab nurse

Education

College

Graduate of Stark State College in Canton Ohio in May of 2000 with an Associate degree in nursing

Currently enrolled in RN to BSN program through GCU (Grand Canyon University). Approximately half way done with obtaining my Bachelors in nursing

SKILLS

Pediatric nursing with experience in PICU, NICU, Burns and oncology. Expert at infant and toddler nursing in medical surgical including things such as respiratory conditions (RSV, croup, asthma, et al) and surgical areas (ortho, surgeries such as appendectomies, T & A, et al). I have used multiple pieces of medical equipment such as IV machines, feeding machines, oxygen, ventilators, et al. I have worked with children who have tracheostomies, gastrostomy tubes, mitrofanoffs, et al. I have given multiple medications (IV, oral, IM, SQ) to all age groups from new born to geriatric age. I am familiar with multiple disease processes and how to take care of patients from new born to geriatrics.
