Founding Manager of the Women’s Business Center, INW, funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Was recruited to North West Business Development Association, an SBA CDC, to head the succession planning efforts with the intention of taking on the COO position. I served as support to the COO in completing loan approval recommendations, portfolio maintenance, commercial site visits, strategic planning, electronic marketing, and succession planning. The president decided to defer his retirement, the market was not big enough to support me as an SBA 504 lender, so I moved onto launch the Women’s Business Center, INW hosted by SNAP.

Served as a voting member on the commercial loan approval committee, and was responsible for commercial portfolio management, audit, loan grading, restructure negotiations, compiled SBA repurchase packages, coordinated bankruptcy proceedings and liquidated loans. I shifted my relationship with NexBank to a consultant and formed SBA-SOS, continuing to be working the portfolio; billing $100/hour while training bank staff SBA loan processing, underwriting, servicing, and liquidation process and procedures to ensure future compliance. Closed the consulting company to relocate for the position at NWBDA.

Research Systems - President – 5755 Wayzata Blvd, #350, Minneapolis, MN 55305- Phone: 952-***-**** March 2005 to January 2006 purchased a qualitative market research company in the declining stage of its 30- year business cycle. Created and executed a business plan that quickly resulted in a 50% increase in gross revenue by the 4th month of operation. The drivers for this increase were achieved upon execution of a strategic plan that included increasing the client base via direct sales calls to specific target markets, increasing client satisfaction with upgrades in technology and updates to the test kitchen, call center reorganization and creating an operationally efficient bidding system to gain profitability on all recruits and focus group sessions. Personally, provided moderator services upon client request, streamlined the St. Paul call center resulting in increased productivity on the project recruits, and reduced absenteeism. Sold the company with a healthy ROI. Little Italy & the Prolific Oven - Restaurateur-7318 Winding Way, Fair Oaks, CA 95628 – July 1995 to November 2000- Purchased a failing restaurant, drafted and executed a comprehensive strategic plan that resulted in increased gross sales of over 25% annually. Direct sales and public relations efforts resulted in front page coverage in the business section of the Sacramento Bee, outstanding food critic reviews, live television coverage, and invitations to participate in exclusive food shows. Responsible for all daily operations, staffing, training, purchasing, inventory control, and bookkeeping. Expanded into catering the second year, a children's cooking school and a businessperson’s networking group was co-founded and met at the facility. Sold the company.

Sacramento First National, Truckee and Feather River State Bank – V.P. - SBA Loan Manager – Sacramento, CA – May 1988 to June 1995 Established a successful community bank Small Business Administration loan team at Sacramento First National Bank and through mergers and industry shake up, the core team also worked at Truckee River and Feather River Bank. Our department was consistently ranked top in market production in Northern California and we secured Preferred Lender designation under my leadership. Managed the production, sales, financial analysis, underwriting, servicing, and liquidation of all SBA loans. We offered financial assistance to start-ups, franchise opportunities, expansion, equipment, and real estate purchases. Responsible for P&L of division, staff training and management, client negotiations, and served as the government liaison to maintain accreditation. Resigned to purchase a failing restaurant and try my hand at turning around and running a small business. These banks are all folded into U.S. Bank and Bank of the West. Marketron/Vericom - Computer Trainer and Consultant – 180 Sansome St., San Francisco, CA 94104 January 1985 to March 1986 Recruited from college by a computer company that provides national television and radio stations a system that schedules advertising, programming, generates daily FCC program logs, and rolls into billing and accounts receivable. I traveled throughout the United States as part of an installation and training team to bring many stations from manual systems in 1985 to a fully computerized operation, specializing in the generation and balancing of the stations account receivables. The instillation jobs typically ran one month but the crew-stayed onsite until the entire system us up and operational. BETA tested all accounting releases. Company failed to make payroll and had major layoff. Coldwell Banker Half Moon Bay, CA Real Estate Sales Agent – worked as a real estate agent to supplement my education costs while completing college and several years after graduation. Manager –Anthony Real Estate School, 200 W. Main St, Santa Maria, CA 93454– September 1979 to May 1982- Worked as the area manager for Anthony Real Estate School, California central coast. Enrolled students, scheduled courses, issued tests, and managed the school’s daily operations. The office was consistently recognized for top sales and enrollment production statewide.
