interest in this quickly growing field. Being
a professional at the interface between

Diagnosis of Oral Pathologies and Treatment Planning Early detection of pre-cancerous lesions and management with regular follow up. Clinical evaluation of leukoplakia, lichen planus, recurrent apthous ulcers, oral sub mucous fibrosis, and gingival enlargements. Performing intralesional injections for management of OSMF. Categorizing and grading oral cancer on the basis of clinical appearance and history, with subsequent referral to Cancer Institutes. Sending saliva samples, cytosmear and biopsies to oral pathological lab for histopathological confirmation.
Radiological Diagnosis
Advising radiographic investigations in the form of IOPAR, RVG and OPG. Experience with advanced imaging modalities such as CBCT for oral and maxillofacial pathologies. Formulating a diagnosis correlating with clinical findings and working closely with oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pathologists for differential diagnoses of disease.
Academics
Teaching undergraduate dental students in their third and final year on topics related to the specialty. Assisting professors in creating presentation material and exam revision content for the students. Presenting advancements in oral medicine and diagnostic sciences in the form Journal Clubs using published articles from noteworthy journals. Seminars and case presentations on various basic and advanced topics were presented in front of staff and postgraduates every week.
Research
Proposing a hypothesis, collecting data from in patients with consent, tabulating data, sending for statistical analysis and assessment of the results. Specifically interested and involved in the field of temporomandibular disorders, sexual dimorphism in mandible and detecting mandibular accessory canal using CBCT. Manuscript compilation and publishing of original articles in journals. Presenting research at local, national and international conferences.
Special Case Recording
Recording rare oral and maxillofacial pathologies –soft and hard tissue with detailed assessment of the same. A systematic collection of resources with input from departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology to arrive at a final diagnosis. Presenting these special cases in national and international conferences, and sending for publication.
