PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Intermountain Healthcare – Primary Children’s Hospital August 2019 - Present

Primary Children’s Hospital is a nationally ranked pediatric acute care children’s teaching hospital. They operate in six states, consisting of one main hospital campus with 298 beds, three children’s units within adult hospitals and over 100 clinics and outreach services.

Project Manager/Strategic Operations August 2019 - Present

•Partner with hospital operations leaders to develop the hospital’s COVID-19 screening process for thousands of staff and visitors to limit a person’s exposure to others while waiting to be screened.

•As the project manager for the Stabilization and Mobile Response program, which provides in-home, mental health services to children and their families going through a crisis, I created the workflows for operations, billing, scheduling, EMR configuration, data collection and auditing of the program.

•Strategically redesign and implement clinical workflow processes to allow for more transparent, standardized, team-based communication between residents and among patients, family members and the entire care team during rounds.

•Collaborate with community health departments, community clinicians and employed clinicians to develop an Adolescent and Young Adult Transition program. The program has implemented policies and provided resources and data to empower healthcare providers with tools to improve communication and collaboration when a pediatric patient is transitioning to adult care.

•Assess priorities and work with leaders throughout the hospital to meet ongoing strategic initiatives.

Ascension Texas, Central Texas January 2017 – August 2019

Ascension Texas is comprised of two healthcare systems, Ascension Seton in Austin, Texas and Ascension Providence in Waco, Texas. The two systems operate 15 hospitals and more than 100 clinics across Central Texas.

System Operational Lead - Sports Performance February 2018 – August 2019

•Established and developed the Ascension Texas Sports Performance department, which provides event medicine coverage for local sports teams and large athletic events, including becoming the named sponsor for the Ascension Seton Austin Marathon.

•Developed and managed budgets for Ascension Texas Sports Performance departments totaling ~$3M.

•Led a team of athletic trainers, contract physicians and support personnel to ensure that the department reduced waste while achieving clinic and program growth month-over-month.

•Strategically identified and developed new partnerships with local sports teams including Austin Bold FC, Lonestar Soccer Club, as well as, revitalizing historical relationships such as Circuit of the Americas to ensure a strong return on investment and set up the program for growth.

•Developed new partnership opportunities by engaging with community leaders, local sports teams and large event productions to provide medical coverage to various events. Determined which partnerships were most valued to the organization while still maintaining a good relationship with entities we did not form partnerships with.

•Developed a data platform to determine the return on investment of the various partnerships by identifying athletes under our care who utilized medical services at an Ascension Texas hospital.

System Associate Administrator December 2017 – February 2018

•Led network initiative to improve staff productivity by building a data tracking mechanism to monitor productivity and expense management. Texas market productivity was ~62% in February 2018 at initiative launch, since project launch to time of leaving this role the market productivity had consecutively been >80%.

•Implemented workflows with hospital executives to manage expenses. Ensured that as the hospitals increased productivity the team-maintained overtime labor <2.5%. During this time, the team reduced missed meals by over 1,000 missed meals per pay period.

•Coordinated transition from a level III trauma designation to level II trauma designation, ensured adequate call coverage, proper building redesign, financial impact, downstream impact to the hospital/market and future strategic growth in select markets.

System Administrative Fellow January 2017 – December 2017

•Coordinated group of 10 volunteers to ensure patient families were informed and comfortable as patients moved into a new hospital.

•Created and presented guidelines to providers to aid in properly coding patient acuity to increase CMI >.40 index points.

•Developed business plan and marketing strategy to present to executive leadership as part of the Ascension Leadership Academy.

Logan Regional Hospital is a 146-bed general hospital that serves Northern Utah, Southeast Idaho and Western Wyoming with multiple outreach clinics.

Language Program Coordinator July 2014 – August 2015

•Managed department of six Spanish interpreters and worked with community partners to provide interpretation services in ASL, Burmese, Arabic and other languages as needed.

•Monitored and raised interpretation volume by 9% by improving awareness, throughout the hospital, of interpretation services.

•Implemented processes to improve patient care and comply with legislative requirements.
