Leadership Experience
I worked in the capacity of Head Start Director for a Migrant Head Start Program. I was in an Emerging Leader’s Program, a supervisor over two different departments (Trio and the Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Programs) within East Central Illinois Community Action Agency. I identify as a Transformational Leader: my approach is to model, inspire, coach, provide resources, support, and knowledge to staff so that work can be done in a timely and efficient manner. I served on the Illinois Association Head Start State Board and helped make leadership decisions on the longevity of Head Start. I worked in collaboration with members of leadership from Head Start Programs throughout the entire State of Illinois, helped with the development of the Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Value Statement for the Illinois Head Start Board. Conducted strategic planning for each department that I supervised; Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, and Trio (Educational Talent Search). Facilitated professional, personal development workshops and trainings for the entire Agency. I worked on many Professional Development Teams for Community Action Agencies in the State of Illinois.
