FE Modeling of pipe, pad and lever was carried out using 2D quad elements and welds are modeled with 3D Penta elements. standard pre-processor & post processor FEM checks are performed. Training Project 2: Strength and Modal Analysis of an Automotive Exhaust Cold End Pipe Static strength analysis (SOL 101) of the Exhaust cold end (Flange, Pipe, and Hangers) is carried for self-weight i.e. 1g, bad road loads (5g-Vert, 3g-Lat, 2g-Axial). Natural frequencies

(SOL 103) of the assembly were computed. FE modelling is carried out with 3D Hexa elements for flange, 2D shell for pipe, and 1D CBUSH elements to represent isolator. Welds were represented using Hexa/Penta elements and bolts using rigid elements (RBE2). All standard pre-processor & post processor FEM checks are performed.
