Responsibilities for Construction Manager:

Ensure that contractors comply with all aspects of the Worksite HSE Plan and policy; site regulations, permit to work and Client requirements.

Ensure that construction contractors adhere to the latest approved for construction project drawings, specifications, procedures, and site instructions.

Routinely study, check, and review all contractor scope as detailed in drawings, specifications, and instructions, ensuring contractor’s proper interpretation and compliance with the latest AFC drawings and specifications.

Ensure proper change control by issuing Field Instructions for all changes, reviewing Technical Queries to ensure responses are appropriate and practical and reviewing Advanced Revision notices prior to issue to contractors to ensure correct use of construction resources.

Ensure that contractors are working in the required work areas, locations and elevations and that work sequence and interfaces with other contractors are both co-ordinate and planned to provide continuous working to meet contract schedules.

Follow up of the outstanding issues such as procedures & drawings are completed prior to start activity, through surveillance and audit.

Identifying, reporting and follow up of variations, non-conformance and corrective action.

Scheduling, planning and performing internal, external and surveillance audits.

Participating for the project progress meeting with the client.

Responsible for directing and controlling all sub-ordinates.

Responsibilities for Construction Engineer:

Establish clear definition of responsibilities for the construction management personnel.

Contribute to project constructability review workshops at home office during engineering activities, in coordination with construction support engineer, and subcontractor’s construction managers.

Prepares the construction schedule in conjunction with the planning engineers with details on specific activities and respective dates of completion.

Ensure the mobilization of all labor, materials and equipment in the most cost effective and efficient manner to achieve the construction objectives.

Commence the construction as per guidelines set and ensure the completion of the same as per the above plan.

Leads the construction management team, fostering continuous inter-discipline coordination to ensure the smooth completion of all activities with minimum interruptions & reworks.

Promotes excellent working relationships with construction subcontractor team members.

Ensures continuous construction work fronts availability through preparation and review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, engineering deliverables and material delivery schedules.

Constantly identify bottlenecks for progress on construction and proactively take action to resolve.

Chairs daily, weekly & monthly internal meetings, and ensures action points are liquidated in a timely manner. Preparation of construction site and home office based documents/specifications.

Ensure that all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available and area release in accordance with contractors ITP.

Pipeline & Piping Execution in Overseas:

To prepare Work Method of Statement for pipeline execution as per company standards & specifications.

Check & survey the routing of pipeline as per drawings & procedures.

Mark the pipeline routing as per dimension in approved drawing. Make a walkthrough with the client to get approval prior to start excavation activity.

Mobilize the excavation crew & equipment to start excavation.

Follow-up material receiving inspection for bedding materials.

Prior to laying the pipe, bedding to be done as per company standard either metal or sand.

Excavate welding pit for doing good welding in good position.

Follow-up rigger mobilization & approval as per company standard.

Assign the right cranes & riggers as per the pipe weight. After pipe laying follow-up fit-up & welding as per project standard.

Install blind flanges & dish end to fill water for hydro test. Doing hydro test as per project standard.

Verify flushing, hydro test & dewatering Procedures. Verification of gaskets & flanges.

Hydro testing inspection of piping. Inspecting the entire system before client inspection and prepare internal punch list. Inspect the directional orientation and alignment of equipment and piping.

Make arrangements for pressure test according. Check fit up as per tolerance and as per drawing. Material inspections and verifications with MTC and project specifications.

Arranging calibration certificates for PRV's and pressure gauges. Activities including pre inspection, post cleaning, hydro test and box up.

Responsibilities for Equipment Installation:

To prepare Work Method of Statement for rotating & static equipment installation as per company standards & specifications. Receiving the equipment either Rotary or Static without any damage and preservation shall be carried out as per vendor manual and/or company standards & specifications.

Coordinate with quality for material receiving and preservation inspection. To study the Vendor General Arrangement Drawing & Vendor installation manual for each & every equipment.

Preservation shall be carried out as per vendor recommended schedule or company/client schedule.

Installation shall be carried out as per vendor manual sequence with approved work method of statement. Coordinate with civil construction for curing period of foundation and hand over report for foundation or structure. Before installation datum point or control point shall be confirmed using General Arrangement Drawing & Plot Plan Drawing. After installation, equipment shall centering, leveling & elevation as per the co-ordination in equipment plot plan drawing.

For Rotary equipment, preliminary shaft alignment shall be carried out as per vendor acceptance criteria. After, preliminary shaft alignment for rotary equipment & vertical or horizontal alignment for static equipment grouting shall be carried out.

After piping reinstatement hand over, piping shall be connect with static equipment. After piping reinstatement hand over & motor solo run hand over, flange parallelism shall be carried out.

Pipe strain to be check during connecting of piping only for rotary equipment. Final shaft alignment shall be carried out as per vendor acceptance criteria with piping connected.

For static equipment final box up shall be carried out.

Pipeline Execution in India:

Excavation of rock, bedding, Laying, Testing, Commissioning and Maintenance of 1500mm diameter spirally welded MS Pipes around 11Km including 1.6Km Hills area.

Fabrication of Fittings like Miter Bends, Tee Joints & Bell mouth.

Testing in Pipeline- Hydro Testing & Holiday testing.

Excavation in water lagging area, Shoring to avoid sliding of soil, Laying, Testing, Commissioning and Maintenance of 1250mm, 600mm & 450mm diameter spirally welded MS Pipes around 6KM.

Erection of Internal Pipeline including 150m Piping to Overhead Tank.

NOTE WORTHY CREDITS

Received certificate from Tamilnadu Water Board as a token of appreciation for the client satisfaction for execution of 145 m head in 1.6 km MS Pipeline within the estimated timelines.
