2019 To Current

I am currently employed in the position as Work Shop Manager. I oversee the day to day running of the workshop/ Sites and staff as well the repair, service and maintenance of the new and used equipment. The company has a wide range of plant with various makes and models.

Job Description

Manage department KPI’s.

Manage department staff.

Manage department budget.

To insure safety standards of company are being met (Daily toolbox talk).

Cost reporting.

Monthly management report.

Deal with subcontractors.

Cost saving regarding parts.

To recover cost regarding site abuse of company equipment.

Ensure that plant requirements are met and quality control is done on repairs.

Check that service and history files are kept up to date.

2015 To 2019

Currently I hold the position of Fleet Manager (HOD) for Sarens fleet department South Africa/ All other African countries where Sarens have current projects.

My Responsibilities.

To ensure that all personnel and foreman reporting to me are carrying out their responsibilities as per their job description.

Report to Plant Division manager on a daily basis before 12pm.

To ensure tight control on day to day activities on plant control.

To have monthly meetings with foreman on the following:

1.2spares

1.3plant problems

1.4accident and abuse

Site Plant managers must be notified timeously of these dates that they attend the meetings.

Liaise with suppliers on repairs to be done by them and notify the Plant Division manager if you do not get prompt response

Ensure that all necessary documentation and plant returns are handed to the Plant Division manager monthly.

Ensure that all services are carries out.

Check that service and history files are kept up to date.

Ensure that major components slips are completed.

Check that site workshops and offices are kept clean and tidy.

Ensure that oil issues are recorded daily promptly.

Assist mechanics to carry out maintenance repairs.

Check and ensure that failures are properly ascertained to avoid wrong costly repairs.

Check service truck tools on a monthly basis.

Discuss with the site agent the performance of mechanical support address any problems.

Ensure that parts ordered are fitted to machines and unused parts are returned for credit.

Check that oil samples reports are checked and follow up problem ones.

Ensure that machine inspections are carried out and reports forwarded to Head Office.

Type out plant return for machines working on site and forward to Head office for payment.

Carry out machine inspection.

Record all operators hours and forward to Head office.

Liaise with machine agents on warranty repairs.

2012 To 2015

I was asked by the General Plant Manager of Genet Mining Eric Van Rensburg, to join him and start up a new civils division. I am currently employed in the capacity of Work Shop Manager. I oversee the day to day running of the workshop and staff as well the repair, service and maintenance of the civil’s department’s new and used equipment. The company has a wide range mixed makes and models of plant and machinery.

The CEO of G Liviero & Son (Pty) Limited asked me to join the Company as Site Plant Manager to oversee their plant on site in the Joint Venture near Steel Poort. I was employed in the capacity of Sectional Plant Manager reporting to the General Plant Manager Eric van Rensburg at Head Office. I was responsible for maintenance of the new and used trucks and earthmoving machines, OME repairs, services and warranty claims. I would ensure that site inspections on the working plant took place regularly as this is where most plant is overseen. Weekly progress meetings were held with workshop staff on internal/external mechanical repairs and the workshop in general. I am computer literate and work well with others.

General Information:-

I have completed a three year training course at the East Cape Training Centre as well as a 60 day, 50 day and 15 day at this centre in respect of motor and diesel. I passed my trade test in 1994 at Olifantsfontein Trade Test Centre and qualified as an Artisan. Whilst working for the various companies in the past, I have worked cross border in Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

I have been divorced since 2002 and have two children who reside with me - a daughter of 25 and a son of 24 years of age. I have been in a committed relationship for the past 15 years and married on the 01/12/2016.
