Salient items were Nitrogen Compressor and Air Compressor (integrally geared compressors of around 1.5 MW each supplied by Ingersoll Rand, USA) and Helium Compressor (Screw Compressor of 1.4 MW) supplied by Kobelco Japan, and Cold box supplied by APCI. Salient EPCM Projects of Qatargas (RasGas):

A) Feasibility Study, FEED and EPCm :: SRU Capacity Enhancement SRU Capacity Enhancement project is intended to provide facilities to process additional acid gas in the Sulphur Recovery Units (SRU) of 4 LNG Trains. This will provide capacity to enable processing of all acid gas from other trains that do not have a Sulphur Recovery and thereby avoid Acid Gas Injection.

Detailed Feasibility study was conducted to evaluate the equipment and piping to process the resultant increase in flow rates. A FEED study was then performed to short list equipment requiring modification and an EPCm is currently underway to effect the modifications, in a phased manner to match the shutdown window of individual trains. Equipment in Acid Gas Enrichment Section, Claus Section, Tail Gas Treatment Section and Incinerators were evaluated for the revised operating conditions. Requisitioning, Bid Evaluation and Vendor Print Review are currently underway for a range of modifications such as Trays and internals change in Absorbers and Regenerators, Heat Duty enhancement for Plate Heat Exchangers, Standby Blowers, Flow Rate and Head increase in Pumps, Burner capacity increase for Reaction Furnace etc.,. B) RCA, Feasibility Study & EPCm :: Reliability improvement for Regenerant Gas Heater The Regenerant Gas Heater in Molecular Sieve Dehydration Service is subject to severe cyclic operation and is prone to weld failures. Range of studies were undertaken for identifying root cause, corrective design and operational measures. Advanced computational studies (FEM/CFD), Field Surveys, Operational study etc., were conducted to arrive at reliable solutions. Feasibility studies were then conducted for the shortlisted Anup Kumar Acharyya
