Manage the material selection, compliance with the project contract criteria, and procurement of material.

Contact all the relevant Subcontractors to obtain quotations.

Review the technical issues relevant to the packages in hand.

Conduct meetings with different subcontractors individually to answer their queries, discuss technical and commercial options and viable alternatives.

Ensure the material compliance with the specifications and all other relevant technical requirement.

Review the commercial and technical comparison to compare different subcontractors and areas where each subcontractor can decrease his price.

Manage and verifying prices submitted by subcontractors, through a team of procurement engineers and purchasing personnel, contacting local and international suppliers to assure correct pricing of different elements.

Controlling all aspects of technical office activities undertaken by specialty sub-contractors or in- house works like (shop drawing, MAS, samples, prototypes, details, coordination, sub-contractors PQD)

Review and approve all engineering submittals (shop drawings, MAS, Prototypes, samples, sub- contractors PQD) ensure that they are full coordinated and comply with project contract document before submitting to the consultant,

Duties include solving technical problems that arise during execution, and get the necessary approvals from the consultant.

Take part in weekly progress meeting with the PMC, and Consultant, the project management review and risk management review.

Take part in technical meetings with the Client, Operator, designer and Consultant prepare meeting agenda and produce the minutes.

Review IFC drawings with project contract documents to extract any variation.

Duties include coordination between different disciplines (structure Architectural, ID, MEP, and raise RFIs. Further to coordination between kitchen equipment, hoods and buffets counters.

Produce engineering deliverable list along with submission dates, maintaining project time schedule.

3. Construction of Headquarters Building for Civil Service Employees Pension Fund (Project value: about $40 M).

Review and verify the main contractor’s working/shop drawings for compliance with construction-issue drawing and specification requirements. Raise the pertinent comments to the main contractor.

Determination and request of necessary tests of construction materials to confirm compliance.

Attend JAFZA, DEWA or other authorities/utility companies’ meeting/inspection as required during construction stage after building permits.

Establish inspection regime with the main contractor and conduct routine inspections.

Bring to the attention of the main contractor any substandard or defective works identified during the course of the works.

Witness any main contractor’s setting out of critical work, where required by the authorities.

Attend regular site meetings to address technical and quality issues.

Maintain records of quality issues throughout the construction period.

Supervise the testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Make a contact and make any required submittals to/with utility agencies, JAFZA, DEWA and EHS, etc. in conjunction with the main contractor and the employer as appropriate for the necessary connections and services for required approvals and enable the completion and occupation of the buildings.

Prepare final ‘snag’ sheets for rectification by the main contractor prior to handover and occupation. Re-inspect upon completion, to finalize minimal defective works schedule for inclusion with taking over certificates.
