WORK EXPERIENCE
L-3 SPACE AND NAVIGATION 5-2006 T0 PRESENT
Sr Subcontracts Administrator Materials/Supply Chain Lead- Responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain. Managed procurement system change from MTO to Cost point and MRO procurement to the Ariba System. Responsible for 4 direct report and 8 in-directs. Sr Subcontracting lead for Military, Space and Aerospace programs generating 75 million in sales. Other programs are for land and navigation units. Examples of major problems solved were the establishment of a turnkey electronics supplier capable of procuring all components/assemblies, inventorying the items, providing all testing (PMA, DPA, RAD, GRPS A, B and C) turnkey dock to stock. Second was establishing a new source for Castings/Precision machining. The previous sources where always late and had many rejects. The current sources are on time with a 5 year LTA, and 100%quality rating. Third was the establishing of a new turnkey CCA source All three issues were resolved by developing team members from various company disciplines.
ITT SPACE DIVISION 3/2005-5/2006
Commodity Manager-Responsible for all operations of the Purchasing Department reporting to the Materials Manager with 4 direct reports. My duties included but where not limited to maintain materials levels, budgets and Supply Chain Representative for new programs on GPS programs. Other duties were the SBLO (Small Business Liaison Officer) and a member of the ITT Supply Chain Council. Received an award for outstanding performance.
CONTRACTOR MATERIALS 6-2003-3/2005
POWER MEDICAL INTERVENTION-Materials Specialist- For a medical device company making surgical equipment needing to source many machine and electronic components Sources were developed for precision/ general machining along with CCA sources.
L-3 SPD DIVISION PHILA. PA- Materials Specialist- This was a consulting position were they had over purchased and over produced materials and needed to find sources for those items and get them back into control. Reported to the Director of Materials. I established guide line for existing buys utilizing existing inventories and selling excess raw material to various suppliers.
FLARION TECHNOLOGY- Materials specialist- This was a telecommunications start up company which required setting up supply chain and distribution functions. They were eventually purchased by Qual Com
SMITHS AEROSPACE 9/1990-6/2003
MATERIALS MANAGER-Reported to the Vice President of Operations for 4 sites involving electronic and electro-mechanical actuation systems for Military and Commercial aircraft. These sites generated 130 million in sales carrying an average inventory value of 46 million. Direct hands on responsibility for all aspects of supply chain for materials, forecasting, purchasing, customer service, stock rooms, shipping and receiving. Managing 4 directs and 38 indirects employees encompassing exempt, non-exempt and union personnel.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Transformed the Whippany CSD facility from a failing operation with average monthly shipments of $600,000 to $2.5 million.
Improved turnaround time for repair units from average 45 days to 15 day average through daily production meetings, teams and procedures.
Established locked stock room procedures and more efficient storage and layout for facilities.
Reduced the inventory at one facility in Whippany from 12.2 million to 9.7 million by developing better inventory purchasing procedures. One improvement was an Analyst tool of which linked the end unit to a part thus avoiding unnecessary buys.
BUYER/SENIOR BUYER-Lead purchasing group for the procurement of various commodities. Reported to the Materials Manager with 4 direct reports and 2 indirects. Material representative for new programs, projects. Chosen as the Corporate Materials Representative for New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania dealing with supplier issues for other divisions. Member of the teams for Cell Manufacturing, Schedule Integrity, F16, Boeing 777, Hamilton Sundstrand and SBLO officer.
Received a letter of Commendation from US sector President for saving a multimillion dollar Boeing contract for another division by rectifying a supplier issue. The situation involves a supplier that had a unique part designed into an assembly. The supplier stopped work and both parties reached an impasse. I was able to negotiate with the supplier build both parties trust so that the work was completed ahead of schedule and under cost.
Negotiated and set up a sheet metal house to not only stamp parts but to provide sheet metal assemblies riveted painted and ready for final assembly. Cutting overall cost to sales unit by $35.00
Established a buy complete program for electronics and machined components and assemblies
