Description of Duties: Logistics Supervisor for 8 US Civilians and 7 Senior German Government Employee’s in the item management for all Communications equipment for United States Army Europe. I retired from this Job. My employees saved the government 50 Million Dollars by recognizing equipment that was in a serviceable condition but had been miscoded. I promoted the best and a few were counselled for poor performance. Upon my retirement from Civil service I was awarded a Civilian Meritorious Medal.

June 06 2009 to August 2012

Eygelshoven the Netherlands: Accountable Officer for Tanks, trailers, Trucks and large generation equipment. This equipment had been in storage in Kaiserslautern Germany for over a year since returned from the Gulf war. As an additional duty I volunteered to be a customs inspector. I Supervised 30 DMOD Dutch Employees. This equipment was CONUS bound. Upon arrival in the USA not one piece of equipment failed US customs. I was responsible for 50 Billion Dollars of Inventory.

Caci international: Exchange pricing contractor. Location: Campbell Barracks Heidelberg Germany. I was assigned the duty to implement this new process into the European theater. It was an at will 90 day contract. I resigned and went to work at Eygelshoven the Netherlands. Better Pay.

At the end of my assignment in The Netherlands I had a 9 month break in service and was the then hired as a contractor to work for Stanley Associates to go back to the USA to Fort Riley Kansas and Fort Hood Texas as a consultant. This required a lot of travel. This equipment was the same equipment that I sent from the Netherlands to the USA.

Biography CW4 Craig J Urban Retired US Army

PVT Urban joined the army at 17 and his initial assignment was in Wiesbaden, Germany. CW4 Urban had various logistical assignments throughout his career, first as enlisted and then being appointed as a W01 in 3rd Armored Division in 1975.

He was the PBO and staff member for 11th Aviation Group until 1978.He was the Warrant officer in charge of the Main Warehouse supporting the 7th infantry division from 1978 to 1982 at Fort Ord, CA.

His next assignment was at Ansbach Germany as a CW3 for 2/57 ADA (Hawk). He was then sent to Alexandria, Virginia where he was the Log Chief for US Army Recruiting Command Support Center, Cameron Station.

He was then assigned to AFCENT Support Center as the Accountable officer supporting Combat Equipment Group Europe. He remained there until 28 Feb 1992 and retired as a CW4. 1 March 1992 he became the Chief of Supply and services GS 11 (0346) and then a year later as a GS 12 he became the Director of Logistics.

In 1994 he moved to Orlando Florida and work for Simulation Command as a contractor overseeing SAIC on contracting matters.

In 1995 he returned to government service working in Nabollenbach Germany overseeing Ogden GMBH a German contractor. The task for Ogden was redistributing excess repair parts, due to the drawdown of 4 to 2 divisions. It was a cost plus contract and he was part of the AWARD Fee board. The European Redistribution Facility commanded by a LTC Ron Strand was in the process of closing.

He was then moved to Luxembourg. He was the Inventory chief. His next assignment was Eygelshoven the Netherlands. He was Chief of all Logistical systems. His career ended in Aug 1992, in Kaiserslautern, Germany when he retired.

Awards: Army Commendation Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters: Campaign Medal for serving in South Korea 1970-1971, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Ribbon and Meritorious service medal upon his retirement 28 Feb 1992.
