I am currently working as Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer at Emirates Airline – Base Heavy Maintenance. In the last 26 years, I have gained hands-on experience, as a technician, and was promoted to Aircraft Engineer in November 1997 at Air-India Ltd. I have gained experience in component replacement, system servicing, system testing and aircraft final release to service following scheduled and unscheduled maintenance checks. In addition, a great deal of experience has been gained in safety management in the maintenance environment, such as safety of aircraft, safety of personnel involved in maintenance and persons engaged in other activities around the aircraft and hangars. Handling of scheduled arrival & departures in Line Maintenance. Regular Flight Coverage duties to various stations in India and abroad.

Leadership skills were developed in my role as Station Manager (Air-India, Line Maintenance) at different locations. I have been involved in managing and leading all maintenance activities around the aircraft.

I was part of the survey team to various overseas destinations to check the feasibility of VVIP flights from a Technical standpoint.

1. In February 2006 I was assigned on VT-AIM B747-433 P/C to ascertain the cause of Body Gear tyre burst incidents which had occurred 3 times within a span of six months. The cause of the same was ascertained by me along with my colleagues from avionics stream and subsequent rectification was carried out by us at Air-India’s hangar at Mumbai. The aircraft was subsequently ferry flown to the Boeing Facility at Seattle. At Everett, I was part of a team that carried out extensive tests on the landing gears, wheels, brakes and anti-skid system of this aircraft in association with Boeing engineers. 2. Designed, fabricated and obtained approval for several tooling, thereby enabling the work to be carried out safely, quickly and efficiently (PRSOV opening tool, Water Sterilisation tool and Sealant mixing tool, Supernumerary O2 System Functional Test). 3. Corrected several errors in vendor and OEM (Boeing and Airbus) documents such as Aircraft Maintenance Manual, System Description Section and System Schematics Manual via the Document Discrepancy Reporting System.

4. Devised a procedure for calculating the change in static balance moments of flight control surfaces of B777 aircraft, following complete aircraft paint refurbishment. 5. Recipient of Awards and Letters of Appreciation for carrying out work above the call of duty and as recognition for providing innovative solutions leading to significant cost saving and man hour reduction.
