I graduated with a Masters’ in Strategic Communication from the University of Iowa in 2018 and before that I did MBA in Marketing [2008] from India and Bachelor’s degree in English Literature [2005].

Currently, I am freelancing as a creative content writer on Upwork. Here I take up and deliver content writing projects independently while adhering to strict deadlines. I have written blogs and articles in the areas of Food, Lifestyle & Wellness, Education, Entertainment, Consumer Goods and web content for business for my client, Savings United. In these projects, I write copies for marketing communications, social media platforms and customer facing websites as a freelance content writer and love how dynamic the nature of social media is. The way I write content for Twitter is different from the way I write for Instagram. On Twitter brevity, being precise and content heavy wins the day whereas, on Instagram, an image and small content, like a line [I usually use Canva for this] might be the winner. As a freelancer, I get to work with a variety of clients who are based throughout the world. Needless to say, I take in varied kinds of requirements and work as a copywriter for them. This role requires me to do research on diverse topics every day and do it fast. Picture this, currently, I am writing strategic brand content for a coupon clipping company, Savings United, this content directly goes to websites like PCWorld Coupons [Hayneedle,Autodesk, Monoprice, Athleta], Accuweather Coupons [Nordstrom], New York Post Coupons [Bank of America, Cheaptickets, and Wired.com coupons [Ancestry.com, Philo TV, TurboTax]. I write the brand copy part. Also, I have written blogs for the website and social media posts for an education consulting startup, IVY Bound Consulting [Harvard, Yale]

Currently I am writing a series of 1800 word blogs essentially related to food, cooking and lifestyle. It is for Lindsey Coconides who runs the Confectionery & Confetti blog. ‘All about Cake Flour’ was the first one I wrote and the second one ‘The Most Comprehensive Kitchen Essential Checklist.’ I have my blog pieces included in my portfolio, the link has been provided in the subsequent page.

As a freelancer, I gain new experiences as a writer every day. Well, freelancing allows me to do both copy & content writing. While my forte is writing web copies my heart lies in blogging and writing for the dynamic social media space excites me. And the best part is the diverse nature of the projects I get to work on and getting to build my ability to grasp different client requirements and delivering them on time. I would come on board with this exposure and would back it up with my degrees in Strategic Communication & MBA Marketing.

I have 4 years of work experience which entailed marketing communications, copywriting, training and client relations as my key responsibilities.

My previous employment [Edenred India] revolved around managing, communicating and maintaining relations with the assigned portfolio of corporate clients, B2B marketing, writing marketing communications copy. My work also involved preparing content for email marketing and communication. My client portfolio included Thompson Reuters, Ernst & Young, 3M India and many more. At Tata-AIG Life, I worked my way up from a Management Trainee to the Manager Training & Operations position. In the role of a Manager Training & Operations, my responsibilities included training, operations, training procedure documentation. I have also worked briefly at a store as a Manager [Weber Grills] and have been responsible for overall store and team management [had four store associates reporting to me], store visual merchandising and building and maintaining client relations.

Along with this, I am a volunteer at the Madison based preschool Orchard Ridge Nursery School. Here I participate in the overall co-ordination and upkeep of the school as a parent helper.

I am looking forward to a challenging role where I can put my work experience, my writing skills and learning from my academics to work.
