Providing real-time teleconsultations to psychiatric patients across the country by collaborating with their family members or with the nominated representatives

Onsite and virtual training and educational outreach on mental health concerns to the Primary care doctors, community psychiatric nursing staff, clinical psychologists, case managers, and other auxiliary staff in identifying and managing the psychiatric patients within the community or at the level of the primary care setup

Virtual psychiatric classes for undergraduate students across 50 medical colleges in the country under the National Medical College Network Program

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

As part of my MD thesis, I worked on evaluating the biomarkers in bipolar disorder and psychosis. During this time I was mentored and trained by – Dr. Muralidharan K (Professor and Medical Superintendent NIMHANS) who has been trained at the Mood Disorders Centre for Excellence in Vancouver, Canada, and Co-guide Dr. Venkatasubramanian G (Professor of Psychiatry) who are great teachers and also well-known researchers internationally in the field of Psychiatry mainly bipolar disorder and Schizophrenia. Following the completion of my MD, I continued to work in the field of Bipolar Disorder and biomarkers.

Title: “Oculomotor Abnormalities as a Potential Endophenotype for Bipolar I Disorder: An Eye- Tracking Study of Saccades and Smooth Pursuit”

Description: This study main hypothesis is to test whether the oculomotor abnormalities are present in Bipolar disorder patients and first-degree relatives compared to healthy individuals

If so, is there any role of such abnormalities as endophenotype markers

The main implication of this study is to find non-invasive biomarkers for bipolar disorder which can be utilized at routine clinics
