TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES: Troy, MI 2019–Present

Global Strategy Head of Connected Vehicle Services & Head of Business Development

Enlisted to manage a new CASE (Connected Autonomous Shared and Electrification) organization within TCS. Responsible for creating the point of view for data monetization and vehicle services strategy, and working with TCS OEM partners to develop the next generation of connected vehicle services and data monetization opportunities. Manage a global team to mature the necessary tools to implement consent and regulatory standards, data marketplace functionalities, and connected vehicle toolsets to connect vehicles to the wider IOT environment for enhanced customer experiences including big data analytics and machine learning (AI). Managed all business development with Global OEM and Tier One suppliers and handling partnership opportunities from initiation to fruition.

Partnered with Media and Media Providers to create customer experience solutions that crossed between home Streaming Video to in vehicle entertainment to create a targeted media platform for customer specific advertising and additional data streams from integrated data monetization models.

Integrated and designed a multi-OEM Connected Vehicle Neutral Server for monetizing connected vehicle data insights and services. Established a viewpoint that data monetization requires data from multiple OEMs and industries to build a true data marketplace. Instrumental in connecting ecosystem partners and organizations, creating the vision, managing the global IT and data science resources, interacting with regulatory bodies to create proper consent engagement, and engaging with customers to implement this strategy with designs focused on consumer needs/feedback.

Developed strategy and tools to implement global consent standards for in and out of vehicle experiences. Architected the technology to provide a comprehensive consent solution compliant with GDPR and CCPA regulation. Trained team to utilize design-thinking to create the software and user interfaces. The consent tool creates a single point for consumers to manage their consent and privacy rights across multiple OEMs, retailers, and even banks.

Connected TCS with connected vehicle solutions outside of standard vehicle services. Engaged multiple OEMs, Tier One suppliers, dealers, insurers, and other businesses to support a full-service data ecosystem for connected vehicles that spanned across vehicle brands into a cohesive technical ecosystem that will provide the frameworks for autonomous vehicles and data monetization opportunities into retail and other industry spaces.

Performed C-level business development. Established relationships with executives at multiple vehicle OEMs, suppliers, regulators, and software development firms, creating synergistic opportunities and sales pipelines for integrated connected vehicle experiences. Spoke at multiple conferences and lead panels to create visibility for Data Monetization and Business 4.0.

FORD MOTOR COMPANY: Dearborn, MI 2016–2019

Senior Global Product Owner • Ford 2.0 Program Manager – Digital Services, Data Monetization & Infotainment

Recruited to head a newly-created digital product strategy team charged with conceptualizing, delivering, and monetizing commercially-viable software and data analytics solutions for seamless integration in the FordPass connectivity ecosystem. Partner across Ford leadership on the creation and definition of strategic product innovation roadmaps, directing cross-functional organizations of product designers, software developers, data scientists, and internal automotive development teams to drive programs from initial ideation through analysis, commercial strategy, development, UI/UX, test, go-live and customer experience.

Developed and executed strategic roadmaps for a portfolio of 30 concurrent programs valued at $140M. Liaised with C-suite leaders to ideate solutions, consolidate programs, and secure human capital and financial resources. Led customer focused “design thinking” workshops with potential feature consumers to aid in developing the roadmaps.

Launched a Radio Analytics product projected to produce $20M over 2 years, Ford’s first non-auto revenue product. Architected a data and AI solution that aggregates salable consumer data from driver entertainment system behaviors. Led numerous meetings with radio station management teams, data consumers, advertising groups, targeted media groups, and held numerous consumer tests to validate the worth of the product to both consumers and data purchasers.

Used Agile approach to rapidly align stakeholders and deliver Radio Analytics product. Built software, reconfigured entertainment system, designed the WiFi framework, created the vehicle (onboard) and cloud services (offboard), secured partner legal consents, and led test and integration. Utilized design thinking approaches to lead the development teams in developing user stories and validation points to ensure customer focus of products.

Led research and development of a Police Telematics maintenance reporting product for integration in hybrid law enforcement vehicles. Orchestrated Big Data research and fleet sales teams to align strategy and deliver proof of concept. Met with fleet owners of police and other first responders, as well as the officers themselves to determine the usefulness of the product and to ensure we had proper priorities on features meaningful to the clients. Worked with governmental bodies to ensure data regulations and security protocols were managed and handled properly.

Performed human-centered design development. Established relationships with hospitals, insurance and medical firms, to engage customer design of integrated Accident Triage and Insurance product for vehicle accident response.

BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF MICHIGAN: Detroit, MI 2012–2016

Senior Manager – Integration & Web Development • Audit • Compliance Data & Technology Support

Following the company’s completion of the M&A purchases of 2 Medicare and Medicaid insurance firms, joined the organization in a strategic leadership role responsible for directing the integration of the 3 separate companies. Drove collaboration with the executive leadership team to manage and harmonize IT systems, processes, risk, compliance (HIPAA, ACA & other federal and state regulation), analytics, costing, audit readiness, and customer experience management. TRANSPARENT SYSTEMS, LLC: Grand Rapids, MI 2005–2012

Shaped and executed the corporate vision as founder and CEO of an early-stage manufacturer of mobile tablets and integrated applications and business intelligence software solutions to the medical and hospitality industries. Provided strategic and organizational leadership in business model development, short-term and long-term planning, P&L management, C-level business development and contract negotiation, engineering design and prototyping, customer experience, Quality management, measured media and targeted marketing, strategic partnerships, investor relations, production, and talent management for 240 direct and 2,400 indirect employees in the US, Europe, and China.

Forged the methodology of Design Thinking and Measured Media / Targeted Marketing Data Monetization from Mobile Devices. Created the hardware, electronics design, technology framework, data structure, API concepts, dashboards, and software now utilized by many organizations including Android and iOS to conduct targeted marketing and advertising and monetize data from mobile devices. As the first commercially produced mobile device, we held numerous workshops with users and consumers to validate hardware designs, user interfaces, and even product functionality.
