Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE): Agriculture Activities and

socioeconomic status of rural people in Barhaj Tehsil, District Deoria,

Utter Pradesh India

Summary:

Serves as ground to transfer the improved technology developed through

research programs to test its viability and usefulness under real farming

situation. objective were to get insight in rural agriculture practices,

socioeconomic condition of rural farmers, Dairy and animal husbandry, and

extension work with education regarding same including the six month stay

in the selected village.

The RAWE includes study of crop production, soil test and integrated

nutrient management, extension education and rural sociology, agriculture

economics, integrated plant protection, Horticulture and livestock and

nutrient management. This Study carried out by using extension method like

field exposure visits of the various farmers; field Demonstrations, Group

discussions with farmers,

During RAWE Program, there are following activities carried out:

. Tree Plantation program by involving school going children and

villagers in the village and surrounding open place of village

. Discussion about real problem related farming, Dairy and crop

production with farmer of various villages.

. Disease of fruits and vegetables: discussion about disease and

symptoms of fruit and vegetables and precaution from them.
