Further Fields of Interest Incorporated in Teaching
Creative writing: I incorporated creative writing skills and techniques in so many courses that I taught throughout my career. My students and I did story writing workshops as part of courses. WE also made some practices in Effective Reading and Writing. Our practice gave me the opportunity to identify students with real talents and help them to polish their skills. I believe it generated more interest in learning English for all students.
Methods of Research: I have introduced the basic methods of research and documentation of references in courses like English composition and Effective Reading and Writing. Students were introduced to the basic techniques of conducting research, using references, and documentation.
Cinema: Short clips from selected movies were implemented to boost students’ learning skills, create an appealing learning environment, and improve listening comprehension.
English Lyrical Poetry and Music: As songs mean lyrical poetry, the use of songs and music in teaching proved very effective. This helped to improve listening comprehension, thematic reading, boosting students’ vocabulary, and again generating more interest in students to learn.
