SpartanNash employee that it may concern:

Growing up in the Grand Rapids Area, I have been familiar with SpartanNash for more than a decade. From driving past the distribution plant on 76th Street in Byron Center to making a run to Family fare for the groceries you need right now, I've seen the brand more times than I can count. I even remember when the brand was simply Spartan, before the merger. However, in my time being familiar with the company publicly, I've only heard good things about working at SpartanNash from employees I know in my own community. I am a driven student at Taylor University pursuing a degree in Accounting and Finance. In my time at Taylor thus far, I have served as a Resident Assistant in Wengatz Hall. In this role, I have guided new students through the academic and social pressures that come with being a new student, while also supporting and counseling returning students in their community relationships. I have worked with Residence Life staff in fostering community within and maintaining the hall. Additionally, I have been involved with volunteer organizations, the Society for Human Resource Management, and various other groups on campus. I’ve spent the previous 2 summers working in the plant for Herman Miller in Holland. The opportunity to see the processes of manufacturing and distribution has been insightful for the way I approach being a business student. I am seeking to gain business experience through accounting or finance internships in the future, specifically over the summer of 2021. Please let me know more about the Summer Finance Intern Position.

Thank you for considering me for this internship opportunity. I’m looking forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Tim Petroelje
