Summary of Major Duties and Responsibilities

Carries out the basic planning and preparation for daily repair and routine preventive maintenance activities in the plant and preparation of weekly, daily work programs arranges for the availability and utilization of spares, tools and equipment and follow up on the requesting and issuing of material for such work. Assist in the overall planning for maintaining of plant shutdown and overhauls.

Job Responsibilities:-

To set equipment maintenance standard and decide frequencies for :

a)Equipment inspection / checking to know malfunction or deterioration.

b)Equipment repairing standards.

To Execute Inspection / Checking to monitor the condition of equipment

(Measuring the Malfunction the deterioration) on basis of:

a)Routine Inspection.

b)Periodical Inspection.

Spares Management according to the condition of equipment.

Planning jobs for daily maintenance and shutdown maintenance.

Continuous reduction of maintenance cost through:

a)Reducing the maintenance itself (Maintenance Prevention).

b)Improving maintainability of equipment.

c)Improving maintenance effectiveness (Reducing Shutdown Time).

d)Continuous improvement of Maintenance procedures & standards.

e)Continuous improvement of design (Simplification & Modification).

f)To train the sub-ordinates.

Role and Responsibilities

Carries out routine preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment according to schedules, results of visual inspection, check lists and specific equipment requirements. This includes daily checking and changing oils as required, monthly checks of motors and bearings and greasing as required and yearly checks of bearings and couplings, greasing motors on pumps and other general overhauls of equipment, repairs and/or replace defective parts.

Check the condition of hydraulic oil, filter, tank, motor and coupling, hydraulic cylinder, hose pipe, pump, alignment of coupling and leveling etc.

Maintenance and repair of hydraulic gear pump, sliding vane pumps, different types of piston pump, hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic motors.

Check of the condition of the different types of the bearing.

Pressure gauge, pressure switch, air blowers, pumps and chemicals dosing pumps.

Centrifugal Pump ( Multistage, Vertical, Submersible), HP Centrifugal Compressor (Multistage, Horizontally, Gear pumps )

Knowledge of valve maintenance.

Responsible for installation, service and troubleshooting of hydraulic and hydraulic related or supported applications.

Experience in Trouble Shooting, overhauling & repair of heavy / light mechanical equipments, such as: Hydraulic Equipments, Pneumatic Equipment’s& Belt Conveyor.

Carries out routine preventive maintenance of machinery according to schedules, check lists and specific equipment requirements. This includes changing oils, greasing, cleaning strainers and filters and general overhaul of equipment. Repairs and or replaces defective parts, reassembles overhauled equipment and carries out necessary tests and performance monitoring upon start-up.

Use proper PPEs, spares, tools, equipments and accessories to the optimum utility.

Knowledge of action during breaks-down and shut-down job.

Assists in planning annual shutdown and major equipment turnarounds and carries out complete overhaul rotating equipment. Reassembles and tests equipment in accordance with requirements or tests schedules.

Overhauling of accumulator in hydraulic system & high pressure n2 gas charging up to 50 liters. Capacity.

Worked in hydraulic operated lp & hp control valves.

Maintenance of general valves, safety valves, diaphragm valves, ball valves, piston valves.

Maintenance of oil separator, coolers, duplex filter, condenser, heater.

Carries out routine maintenance on rotating equipment, carries out visual checks of seals for leaks, disassembles equipment, replaces parts as directed, cleans equipment, replaces packing and gaskets, repairs as appropriate, checks bearings and reassembles. Ensures correct alignment and tolerances, using precision measurement instruments, such as DTI clock gauges, micrometers, gauges and verniers.

Knowledge of all tools used for mechanical maintenance different jobs.

Ability to develop individual and group safety awareness during all maintenance work.

Ability to read and understood of mechanical engineering drawings and instruction manuals.

Knowledge of condition monitoring of heavy & light equipments by different recorded data and analyzing such as Sound, Vibration, Temperature, Lubricant etc.
