PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

AT&T 2007 – July 2020

Principal Member of Technical staff, SDN Platforms and Systems —

AT&T Advanced Technology & Services Organization Middletown, NJ (2014 – July 2020)

Development of a new system to track virtual inventory as part of AT&T’s SDN platform.

●Initial DB layer REST API on top of JanusGraph (Tinkerpop on Cassandra db). DB modelling of the network to minimize schema changes and maximize flexibility.

●DB Tools - Many custom tools were needed since we were using an open-source Graph DB which was only in its 0.5 release when we started.

- dataGrooming: tool to detect and fix data anomalies like duplicates, phantom-nodes, bad-edges and orphan-nodes.

- dataSnapshot/reload: tools to load and unload the DB based on Graphson files which could be used for trouble-shooting and as input for other tools.

- SchemaMod - tool to automate schema changes which require built-in data migrations.

- Audit tool between the GraphDb and our MySql view of the data.

●Worked with a small team of System Engineers and Architects to facilitate the creation and evolution of Service models which allow network element topologies and rules could be defined and enforced without requiring underlying database schema changes. This data modelling work was submitted for a patent by AT&T.

●Evolving environments: moves to MicroServices, Docker, Kubernetes, SpringBoot

Principal Member of Technical Staff —AT&T New Product Development Middletown, NJ (2010 – 2014)

Worked closely with Systems Engineering to design and develop the NetDB and CAT tools using Perl.

●NetDB: an application that parses AT&T router configuration files and provides a daily web-based reporting capability for router data.

●CAT - managing Cable TV infrastructure data

Senior Technical Architect—AT&T INSTAR Systems Middletown, NJ (2007 – 2010)

Part of the original team which built INSTAR, a system to provision routers into AT&T's common backbone.

This was a Java project with an Oracle DB. Subject matter expert for Customer Port Assignments. Extensive work with Systems Engineering to understand how Instar could support our rapidly evolving and complex network.
