ATLAS maintains and tracks the patient enrollment for insurance, drug details for the Patients based on prescription and the shipment for the drugs. ATLAS provides the quick Reference to patient information for the patient care coordinators by easy access to UI through User friendly menus. Referral gets created for the patient based on the physician request and Orders are generated systematically. With appropriate pharmacist checks over the referral and the order, the order gets processed through the system and dispensed to the patient at the Earliest without any issues. Prescription Drug Event (PDE) is a software application used by WHS for its PBM activities. Every time a patient fills a prescription covered under Medicare Part D plan, plans must submit a summary record to CMS. This summary record is PDE record. The submission of the records to CMS is achieved through PDE. The PDE record contains the Prescription Drug cost and Payment data – Payments made by Part D sponsors, other payers, beneficiaries. WHS, as a PBM, generates PDE reports for its Part D clients and transmits them to CMS for payment calculation and reconciliation. The data related to Claims submitted by Pharmacy to claim adjudication engine, Claims that are re-adjudicated by claim adjudication engine, Reprocessed PDE claims with Internal and external errors and Claims manually inserted by business users are proceeding by PDE. The major processes in PDE are Extract process – Creation of PDE report using claim and payment data, Submission of PDE report to CMS for Client, Error handling – Resolve the errors in the records rejected by CMS and Resubmission of records to CMS once the errors are resolved. The project is mainly developed in Java using the Bounce2.0 Framework and basically it’s a Web portal. The backend is Oracle database and various UNIX batch jobs are developed as part of data stage.
