145MBPD FCC revamp project by Marathon in Grayville. Working on FEL3 in Gas Plant, Alky and Merox unit. Working mainly data sheets, PFDs, P&IDs and other engineering support.
Work on Limetree Bay Restart project in St. Croix includes a new strategy for fuel gas system without FCC restart, a new PSA unit, LPG system and Merox units. Worked on Hydrogen balance for the whole refinery.
2015 – 2017 Universal Technologies Corporation
Process Engineer
A basic design package was performed for Delta Energy project in Natchez, Mississippi on 17 Tons/day tire chips pyrolysis. The package included development of pyrolysis gas quenching, cooling and finally separation. The package also includes designing of utilities and offsite including refrigeration, flare gas recovery system and flare system also. Detail engineering and operating manual was prepared.
Performed LPG recovery from flare gases using UTC LPG Recovery Technology for Hitec LLC, North Carolina. Designed the Spiral Separation system that is first of its kind.
Feasibility study for low level heat recovery in Ethylene plant by Lyondellbasell to1) generate refrigeration –chilled water via absorption system 2) generate shaft power for vapor compression. Similar studies were done in FCC unit for flue gases.

Performed due diligence work on HF Alkylation (gravity flow) package provided by UOP for Ecuador Refinery in South America. Work involved checking of Heat and Material Balance, Equipment data sheets, Review of PFDs & P&IDs with client and UOP. Developed flare load and prepared operating manual.
Worked on CCR unit based on UOP technology for a refinery owned by SK in Seoul, South Korea. Prepared data sheets for all long lead items, prepared P&IDs, to accelerate work to be performed by other engineering groups. Participated in reviewing P&IDs with the client so that the whole project including the construction and commissioning of the project can be completed in 2 years

Specialized Training: Process training in refinery process technologies including FCC, Hydrocracker, Sulfur Recovery Unit, Isomerization, CCR and others.
Process Support Engineer on multiple projects for Marathon Refinery in the Midwest. Role involved being an extension of the Refinery Tech Service department in order to develop projects from conceptual ideas to process design package.
Worked with Pinch Technology tool in order to optimize heat recovery in preheat train for CDU and VDU. Presentation materials were developed for the process group.
Preparation of a cooling water model by AFT Fathom for CDU, Lube vacuum and Light End processing unit including field survey and test runs.

Detail design of a new onshore gas plant for Chevron in Cabinda, Angola, including checking of simulation, process equipment data sheet in the basic design package. Activities involved detail design of Amine system, refrigeration system, fuel gas system, flare system, depressurization of the entire plant in stages using Hysis. Actively participated in P&ID review and HAZOP of the entire plant. Prepared catalyst, chemicals and utility requirements.
Provide design and technical support for cryogenic gas plant including PFDs, P&IDs, process description, operating manual, design and review of relief system using the Aspen Tech software package Flarenet.

Prepared detail DCU technical proposals including design basis, simulation and equipment rating for Indian Oil Corporation (Gujarat refinery, Paradip refinery), Hunt Oil Company, Petrom in Romania and Salavat in Russia.
Delayed Coker Unit for Roseneft (Russia)- Prepared Basic Engineering Package (BEP) which includes heat & material balance using PRO II simulation, equipment data sheets, PFD’s, P&ID’s, HAZOP review of P&IDs and equipment layout.
Delayed Coker Unit for CNRL (Canadian Natural Resources) – prepared basic engineering package (BEP) for Coker Island (which includes Coker Heater, Main Fractionator, and Blowdown System). The BEP package included heat and material balance using PRO II simulation, equipment data sheets, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layout and metallurgical flow diagram.
Crude and Vacuum unit revamp for Valero Refinery – prepared heat and material balance based on PROVISION simulator. Prepared a detailed feasibility report including sized equipment list, additional utilities required, plot plan review.
Licensor evaluation of clean fuels (Gasoline) project for Valero – performed licensor evaluation for two plants of capacity 13 & 55 KBD respectively with significant variation in the feed Sulfur contents. The evaluation included reuse of the existing equipment concurrent with single vs. two sites evaluations.
1996 – 1999 – FLUOR DANIEL, INC., Houston, TX
Cryogenic Ethylene Storage Facility for DuPont in Spain
Developed Hysim model, prepared PFDs, P&IDs, determined required utilities and the plot space. Major equipment included cryogenic double-walled atmospheric storage tank, boil-off compressors, pumps, vaporizers, hot oil and refrigeration system.
Following activities performed on Front-End Loading (FEL) report and subsequent Basic Design Package for batch production of Silicon Hydride (SiH) / Urethane Additive products based on existing plant in West Virginia for Witco.
Developed PFDs, material balance and metallurgical flow diagram based on plant visit. Prepared equipment and instrument data sheets and interfaced with client for approval. Also participated in preparation of the plot plan, layout for buildings and HAZOP review of P&IDs.
Sulfuric Acid Concentration (SAC) Unit based on Bayer’s Technology -Performed Hydraulic checks of miscellaneous circuits with review of pump circuits and relief valve sizes. Rechecked the Vacuum System and performed engineering follow-up. Interfaced with client in reviewing P&IDs.
Delayed Coker Unit (27500 BPD), BP Oil, Toledo, Ohio - Developed simulation of Gas Plant using PRO II. Prepared PFDs and Metallurgical Flow Diagrams for the whole unit. Developed P&IDs, equipment and instrument data sheets including relief valves sizes.

Union Carbide grassroot Ethylene Plant in Kuwait
Activities performed in the design of ethane and ethylene storage system from concept to completion include PFDs, basic control systems, vapor recovery system, P&IDs for basic package, equipment and instrument data sheets including relief valves sizes. Prepared operating manual for the above system.
Also prepared P&IDs, equipment and instrument data sheets, relief valves sizes and engineering follow-up for Depropanizer, Fuel Stabilizer, Fuel gas/Fuel Oil storage system.
Exxon’s Ethylene Plant revamp project in Baton Rouge
Worked in the replacement of existing Depropanizer & Demethanizer towers including reboilers and condensers. Performed hydraulic calculations and prepared instrument data sheets including relief valves sizing to revise existing P&IDs.
Refineries
Following activities were performed in the study of debottlenecking of PEMEX’s refinery in Mexico to increase throughput.
Developed heat and material balance for Naphtha and Diesel hydrotreaters using Hysim simulation. Prepared revised data sheets for the debottlenecked equipment of the hydrotreaters.

Refineries
Prepared basic process design package including heat and material balance, developed P&IDs from concept to ‘Approved for Construction’ issue, equipment and instrument data sheets including relief valves sizes for grassroot Crude Distillation Unit.
Worked on Revamp of Crude Distillation Unit to increase throughput and to produce additional heavy naphtha cut. Identified modifications required in crude tower, crude preheat train and fired heater.
Prepared process design package including heat and material balance, equipment and instrument data sheets including relief valves sizes and P&IDs for Vacuum Distillation unit built by Barauni Refinery (Indian Oil Corporation) in India. Actively involved in engineering follow-up and HAZOP review.
Worked on engineering follow-up for Delayed Coker unit that included review of P&IDs and participated in pre-commissioning activities. Prepared Feasibility report for the instillation of Hydrocracker at Karnal (India) Refinery to maximize middle distillates.
Petrochemicals
Involved in detailed engineering of Maharashtra Gas Cracker Project.
Developed P&IDs, equipment and instrument data sheets for refrigerated storage of ethylene. Participated in detail engineering follow-up work for the Ethylene unit which was based on Stone & Webster Technology.
