RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspection of the shell for corrosion and witnessing the shell weld repaired by suitable NDT techniques.
Inspection of Tray and Tray support rings for corrosion, erosion of sieve holes and bolting.
Checking the dished ends for corrosion, erosion and the welds by NDT techniques
Witness & Verification of NDT works by contractors such as MT, PT, and UT inspection has been conducted in according with ASME Standard requirements
Carry out Internal & External inspection on heat exchangers, Pressure vessels, process Column, tank, drums, pipeline and piping by visual Inspection
Witnessed PT, MT, UT, RT examinations and its results various process plant equipment’s.
Review of WPS and PQR for prior to any welding activity and Visual inspection, verification of fit up of weld joints of repair or replacement equipment’s.
Review of the entire project QC related documents applicable codes and standards.
Review of Vender inspection Reports and Test Certificates.
Review of all the Equipment and Instrument Calibration Certificates and maintain as Records.
Inspection carried as per approved ITP and Check lists.
During fabrication conduct inspection of fit-up and fitting equipment.
Prepared daily inspection reports and weekly reports.
Preparation of test packages and tie-in packages as per ITP.
Verify line inspection pre hydro and pneumatic test.
Inspection of hydro, pneumatic, service and valve testing.
Conducting NDE Inspection PT, MT and coordinating with RT & UT people for making inspection for correct location as per standards.
Documentation of quality related activities and packages.
Conduct witness for hydro test in equipment like heat exchanger, and also do the inspection of pre cleaning and post cleaning.
Inspection of flange alignments, gaskets, flange faces, bundles, tubes and valves
Ensuring back purging & shielding gas purity and flow rate as per approved WPS.
Socket joint gap checking as per the ASME B31.3.
Verify welder Job Clearance Certificate (JCC), before welding.
Carrying out the welding Inspection before, during and after welding operation as per approved WPS, Inspection and test plan, relevant engineering drawing, international standard and project specification.
Monitoring and Controlling the Welder.
Ensuring the welding parameters such as welding current, voltage, pre-heat and inter pass temperatures as per approved WPS and Project specification.
Preparation f Daily Welding Report and maintaining quality records.
NDT (MT,PT) Acceptance criteria as per ASME SEC VIII & ASME B31.3
Updating daily NDT repair status and marking of repair at site.
Analyze root cause of repair and take preventive action.
Review and approval of Quality control plan and NDT procedure.
Supervision, witnessing and documentation of WQT (welder’s qualification tests).
Stage wise Inspection of fabrication and erection of Process piping in accordance to ASME B31.3, Project specification, P&ID, GA & Isometric Drawings etc.
Detailed fit up and welding (GTAW,SMAW,FCAW,GMAW,SAW etc) inspection of Piping and structures includes material identification, dimension, joint set up, inspection before, during and after welding, checking of pre-Heat,interpass temp, heat input, root run and subsequent passes and control of consumables.
Carrying out weld repairs if any.
Supervision and monitoring PWHT, Hardness test and PMI.
Coordination and document review of test packages.
Witnessing the calibration of welding machines, baking oven etc.
Selection of appropriate inspection / NDT techniques as per codes/standards& specification. Supervision and coordination of all on-stream and shutdown inspection/NDT activities
Identifying areas of special concern and deterioration (e.g. injection points, buried piping, corrosion under insulation (CUI), dead legs, erosion & pitting)
Reviewing of NDT reports and corrosion analysis (remaining service life calculation based on corrosion rate).
Selection of repair techniques, materials, welding procedures, inspection & testing requirements
Inspection of completed repairs, modifications and/or replacement
