Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that the child named below has been approved and found eligible for a Florida Tax Credit scholarship from Step Up For Students for the August 2019-June 2020 school year. Please take this letter to the participating, eligible school you have chosen as soon as possible to reserve your seat and your scholarship. If demand for scholarships exceeds funding, this scholarship award may expire ON OR BEFORE August 9, 2019, unless you have enrolled your child in a participating school prior to that date.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: Information related to your application can/may be requested at any time post-award for auditing purposes. Please be responsive should any information be requested. If a post-award audit determines you are not eligible, your scholarship may be rescinded.

In accordance with the Florida law, if your child is currently enrolled in a public school, you must inform your public school district office within 15 days that you will be using a Step Up For Students scholarship to send your child to a private school for the August 2019-June 2020 academic year. This requirement applies to all students entering 2nd through 12th grade..

Scholarship checks are prepared four times each year. They will be made payable to the parent(s) named on this letter and will be mailed directly to the school. Only the parent(s) named on this letter can sign the scholarship check. If you refuse to sign a check or do not sign in a timely manner, your scholarship may be rescinded. If you choose to withdraw your child from our program after funding has begun, you may negatively impact your child’s eligibility for the scholarship in future school years.

The scholarship award amount is determined by the effective date of the scholarship and the school’s published tuition and fees and may be up to

$6,519.00 per child. Depending on your student’s enrollment date, it MAY BE LESS. The effective date of the scholarship and its value will be determined by one of the following: the first day of school, or the date of scholarship award approval, or the child’s first day of actual attendance at the private school, whichever is latest.

Please note: If the scholarship effective date is later than the first day of school, the award amount will be prorated from the effective date.
