Operations Manager (Integrated Health Systems Strengthening) – Johannesburg, South Africa:

Support the execution and implementation of public health intervention programs within the IHSS unit

Manage all HR related activities for IHSS, e.g. ensure recruitment, advertisement requests, contract requests and distribution of contracts, interview scheduling, leave applications and coordination, probation coordination, liaison with FPD HR at Head office and compliance with all FPD HR policies in liaison with area managers, are on track.

Responsible for overall management of deliverables of specific allocated contracts within IHSS, e.g. GP contracting, Vodacom, Sediba Hope contract, etc.

Responsible for the implementation of the USAID work plan through effective distribution of deliverables to district personnel and the continuous tracking of outputs via Deskaway or other relevant tracking tools

Liaise continuously with programmatic experts and FPD district leadership to ensure effective implementation of interventions with continuous quality improvement

Supervise fleet management and ensure all relevant tracking systems are in place and monitored effectively through the fleet manager in compliance with FPD vehicle policy.

Coordinate all training schedules submitted to Head office to HoD, implement monthly tracking of all training activities inclusive of NIMART competencies with required progress reports

Organize training and facilitation for Head office staff where indicated

Support SIMS QI initiatives through Area manager and QI SIMS manager activities and provide support where needed.

Senior coordinator for IHSS activities.

Ensure all monthly district reports, performance and otherwise are submitted timeously as required and as per schedule

Use regular deductive analysis of data and activities to ensure regular assessment of work plan progress vs output and outcome success

Implement best practices and lessons learned and/or strategy re-directions as per Head of Department directives within a continuous quality improvement framework

Recruit and hire new staff and assure all staff receive appropriate orientation

Project manage the expectations and deliverables as per FPD’s contract with FHI360 and provide overall oversight and

monitoring of the project outputs and expected outcomes

Develop monthly work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project

Manage the process of development and design of all OD and technical capacity building assessment tools and curricula

Develop capacity building action plans that outline pragmatic capacity building assistance required by the organizations

Ensure that the project deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality

Oversee and track the utilization of accredited evidence based training materials that will be required for capacity building

of the organizations

Liaise closely with FPD project team to facilitate and organize training as and when required by the organizations

• Coordinate the design or review of existing capacity building assessment tools.

• Conduct capacity gap analysis of the USAID funded selected NGOs.

• Plan, coordinate and facilitate the implementation of capacity building assessments to selected NGOs.

• Collaborate with FHI360 team in all aspects of project planning, monitoring and implementation for all capacity building activities.

• Liaise closely with CDS team to develop, organize and update capacity building approaches consistent with emerging skills.

• Develop a capacity development plan based on an assessment of the needs of selected NGOs.

• Guide in development / review of accredited evidence based training materials and ensure their use for implementation of capacity building program in line with the needs of the NGOs.

• Identify training needs and assist in the design implementation and measures to address those needs.

• Strengthen the capacity of the USAID funded NGOs to address gaps within their organizations.

• Ensure appropriate support for the planning and implementation of program capacity building activities for the USAID funded NGOs.

• Manage and oversee the design and delivery of all capacity building-related activities, approaches and tools.

• Conduct periodic performance monitoring including annual reassessments of NGOs to ensure quality is maintained and milestones are met;

• Develop capacity building action plans that outlines technical and pragmatic capacity building assistance required by the USAID funded NGOs.

• Assist in the development of quality improvement (QI) and quality assurance (QA) systems and tools to support the USAID funded NGOs providing HIV/AIDS related services.

• Perform programmatic and technical site visits of the USAID funded NGOs using quality assessment tools.

• Participate in necessary collaborative efforts with the CDS team

• Assist in the preparation of programme reports.

HSA is an accredited provider of education and training in the South African healthcare sector
