Online upgrade of safety systems: development of changeover philosophy for all safety nodes ( FGS PLCs & CAP panel) for platform upgrade with minimal shutdown time. Leading team of 20 engineers and designers for site survey, preparation of changeover philosophy, procedure with detailed specifications / procedures for procurement, instalment, testing and commissioning with compliance to SIL2 as per IEC61508/61511. This philosophy /procedure was prepared to include detailed procedure (signal by signal) and included all technical details to prepare commissioning procedure of the hot / standby changeover of safety nodes.

FEED verification, Pre-bid engineering for control and safety systems- ICSS ( DCS, ESD, F&G), HIPPS, SCADA with RTUs. field instrumentation including multiphase flow meters, wellhead control panels, SIL safety studies. Leading and mentoring a team of engineers of different nationalities.

June 2011- March 2012: Fast Track project –“FPSO Berantai” for Petronas Malaysia ( Petrofac is a risk share partner) existing FPSO refurbishing and reclassification by DNV and installation of new topside equipment including ICSS in Keppel Singapore. Instrument Lead for commissioning at Keppel Shipyard for entire FPSO topsides, hull and marine systems.

Oct2010- May2011: Fast Track project –“Sepat” for PetronasCarigali MOPU-FSO early production system: MOPU being fabricated (existing MOU refurbishment and installation of new topside equipment including ICSS) at Malaysia and FSO (refurbishment of existing tanker reclassification by ABS as FSO and installation of new topside equipment including ICSS) in Keppel Singapore.

GAZFLOT Semisubmersible Drilling Rig (Thruster assisted mooring system): Control systems and field instrumentation for the Vessel Control and Safety System and Drilling Control System on GAZFLOT semisubmersible drilling rig project. Leading a team of engineers and preparing reviewing design detail engg documents and drawings till issued for construction stage. Purchase spec, vendor evaluation, vendor data review, coordination with client, vendors. including package items.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Offshore Engineering Division., Ulsan, South Korea as Instrumentation & Control Specialist. Worked on projects including the following:

TOTAL: MohoBilondo Project: FEED Verification, Bid document review and technical clarifications. SIL studies, overall control system (including PCS/F&G/ESD/PSS, HIPPS and package control of Turbocompressor, turbogenerator, interfaces with packages, subsea control system. Purchase Spec, tech spec, datasheets of Erosion Monitoring System, Field Instruments, Technical guidance to HHI engineers for all detail engg/procurement engg activities. Attended SIL assessment meeting at owner's office and played a major role in getting the SIL levels down to a realistic level ( ESD/F&G : was lowered from SIL3 to SIL2, and HIPPS was lowered from SIL 4 to SIL3). Engineering and assistance to construction and commissioning in the yard. Flare system bottleneck regarding vendor supplied cable was rectified in record time by quick rectification and corrective action initiated by me. Engineering support to commissioning teams for ICAP procedures for entire instrumentation scope ICSS (topsides, hull and marine systems)

SIL studies, PISHAZOP, overall control system (including DCS/F&G/ESD and package control systems of Process Gas compressors and Booster Gas Compressors. Technical guidance to HHI engineers for all detail engg/procurement engg activities. Purchasea Specifications and follow up for instrument items. Enginnering support to commissioning team for ICSS commissioning procedures and activities.

Sakhalin Orlan Platform-DC-1- (Exxon Mobil Neftegas Ltd): Drilling Control and Data Acquisition package, CRI(Cutting Reinjection), Mud Pumps, Drawworks, Top Drive etc. Review and implementation in the design drawings for downstream engg and fabrication.Involved in control topology design of DCDA and interface with other systems. Review /Comments and implementation of control/instrumentation portion of all drilling packages. Technical guidance to HHI engineers for all detail engg/procurement engg activities. Technical support in yard for construction and commissioning of ICSS ( Drilling Control and Data Acquisition in Drillers Cabin) of Hydralift –Sensetech Norway.

West Seno FPU and TLP (UNOCAL): Visited offshore site for troubleshooting of instrumentation and process control issues before final handover of the platform to Unocal.

Maersk XL1& XL2 Ultra Harsh Environment Jack up rigs: leading the control systems, ESD/ F&G/ safety systems team for effective design, procurement, inspection, vendor data approval, preparation of functional design specs,control narratives change orders etc. . SIL verification of safety critical systems as per IEC 61508. Testing and commissioning of ICSS ( Siemens PLC S7-400 based Vessel Control System and Drilling Control Network)

Elf Exploration Angola- Girassol FPSO: Visited ( on behalf of Hyundai Heavy Industries) MPG/ELF office in Paris to assess the work scope and man-hours for the detail engg work being transferred from MPG to HHI/Triune. Was responsible for demonstrating offshore project capability and preparation of proposal & contract of instrumentation & telecom engg content. Planning, work allocation, scheduling, people management, drawing approval, coordination with client and inhouse departments, punch list preparation and management reporting activities.

BP NamConSon Vietnam: FDE for condensate storage at ThiVai (adjacent to Petrovietnam'sThiVai terminal).

Petrovietnam, Vietnam: Lead Engineer for LPG/Condensate storage & transportation GUP-II. Job included TMR system for safety shutdown and fire/gas detection, product metering for custody transfer, radar tank gauging of level in bullets and tanks. Was involved in the basic engg as well as detailed engg. Was responsible to get approval from Brown & Root (consultants to Owner-PVGC) as well as Lloyds Register Croydon UK (Certifying Agency) Mentoring of local vietnamese engineers during detail engg/procurement stage.

Petrobras P-33&P-35 FPSO: Lead Engineer ship conversion project P-33 & P-35 of, Brazil. Control & Instrumentation includes GE Fanuc PLC's in redundant active hot standby configuration, optical fibre communication.Worked in India, China and Korea for successful completion of the project.

Indian Oil Corpn: Lead Engineer for the EPC contractor Larsen & Toubro for the engineering of control systems of refinery expansion project of Barauni Refinery.

IPCL Baroda: Dahej-Gandhar-Baroda pipelines

Lead Engineer:Instrumentation& Control included Scada, Telecom and field / panel instruments for five no. pipelines. The telecom included optical fibre link as well as VHF mobile communication. along the pipe lines.

G.E.Plastic Compounding Plant, Singapore

Lead Engineer:Instrumentation& Control included PLC based SCADA system for total automation & control of the plant which included PLC's of GE Fanuc, Siemens, Matsushita, Omron &Trilogi. Deputed to Singapore for residual engg, engg for plant expansion, preparation of as built drawings. Testing and Commissioning of additional production lines and utilities.
