JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide quality emergent nursing care to critical and non-critical emergency room patients.
Identifies acuity of cases through standardized
method of triaging.
Handles emergency cases such as MVA ( motor-
vehicular accident), cardiac emergencies like
AMI,CVA (cerebrovascular accident), renal cases,
renal failure and attacks of renal colic,
OB-Gyne ectc.
Operates various hospital equipments such as
syringe pumps, defibrillator, glucometer,suction
machine, portable ventilator, invasive BP monitor, etc.
Attends to Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.
Initiates IV infusions which include IV fluids, IV medications, blood and blood components.
Assists in various bedside procedures such as CVP insertion, suturing, I and D. cast application, chest tube insertion, etc.
Participates in various nursing continuing education.
Facilitates health teaching to the patients and
relatives.
Documents all assessments, interventions and other pertinent information in the patients health care
records In a timely and ongoing manner.
Assess own care, that provided by others, patient care systems, and continuously seeks ways to
improve.
