Duration – April 2019 – August 2019

Title – Project manager intern

IBM as a company needs no introduction. I had a chance of pursuing internship with them as part of my curriculum. It was a confidential project for Department of National Defence that involved working on a problem statement using cognitive technologies. We were a team of 6 and had clearly defined roles for each. The project involved meeting with clients (both IBM and DND), performing various types of analysis, doing cost benefit analysis for each, and finally making recommendations. It was an ERP based system which had complex inter relations. It was a 4-month long internship that ended with a presentation to business and obtaining final approvals. Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct requirements gathering session with stakeholders to understand underlying problem.

• Identify Business Objectives along with stakeholders and determining the scope of the work.

• Analyse the system using GAP Analysis, Impact Analysis and, Ishikawa/Root cause diagram.

• Create WBS using Ms Project, scheduling, project planning, cost estimation and allocation of resources. 2

• Prepare project reports, status reports, project charter, communication plan, risk management plan, and other project related documents.

• Perform market research and do a competitive analysis to create a compelling value proposition for the client.

• Perform cost-benefit analysis of all possible solutions and outline the pros and cons of each. Outline the different risks associated with implementation of shortlisted solutions.

Title – Associate Analyst(Technical Project Manager) SunLife financial is a Canadian financial services company primarily known as an insurance company. I had the opportunity to work with legacy systems in SunLife financials and clients such as RBC and CRA. I worked with a team spanning from 5 to 15 people and over 9 projects with major ones being Cobol 31 standalone project, Cobol 31 upgradation Phase 2, Legislative fund disclosure, CRS and RBC auto enrolment. I worked in the capacity of a developer and gradually steered towards project management. Cobol 31 upgradation Phase 2 was a major project that I managed from end to end including analysis, resource handling, preparing work- breakdown structure, performing risk management, and managing scope, changes and quality etc. It was a high-risk project and had a budget of approx. 1million. I had the opportunity to work with projects ranging from 50k to 1M over 2 years. My tenure at Sunlife allowed me to explore my potential by allowing me to work in SAS as well and spark interest in management. I also got the exposure of working remotely as I was supposed to coordinate with Onshore and offshore teams sitting in different locations and working in different time zones. Job Responsibilities:

• Designed and developed 9 end-to-end projects and worked with cross-functional teams.

• Developed new products for clients by coding new systems or enhancing the old ones.

It was my first full time job and I started as a developer. As I learned about system, I started supporting in project management and business analysis as well given my interest in the same. I worked with teams ranging from 10 to 25 excluding onshore members (5 team members). There were 3 major projects where I had a chance to contribute namely MGIB, MGIB-QLAC and Annuitization. All the projects were done for North American client – MetLife. The projects were of the budget 50k to 300k. Job Responsibilities:

• Worked on three major projects with teams of 10 on avg.

• Communicate with stakeholders, participate in kick-off meetings, work collaboratively in Agile - Scrum environments to identify business problems and plan sprints/ releases accordingly.

• Aid during User acceptance testing and postproduction support.

Project Name – Markstrat

Nature – Marketing and Product management

Duration – 3 months (Jan 2019-Mar 2019)

Markstrat was a marketing and product management project done in a simulated environment. The project allowed us to run a million-dollar company, perform research and analysis on market needs and define what kind of products we will launch. It involved all the phases from ideation to final launch to selection of market segment and competitive analysis. It provided a wholesome understanding of how real-time projects work and what all aspects are considered to win maximum net profit margins. Project Name – Vacation Planning

It was a project to handle management for a family of 4 planning to go on a vacation to Europe on budget. The team involved of 6 members of various age groups and expertise. It involved granular level activities such as 4

researching about tourist spots and major milestones such as flying to Spain. All the risks were determined and taken care of for e.g. if the family member got ill during the vacation. The members were insured in order to overcome such risks. The project included all the documentations starting from project charter to final approvals and signoffs. The project provided real time experience and hands on practice on MS Project. Project Name – Data Science for Managers

Nature – Data Science application

The project was done in R language. The project involved selecting database from Kaggle, cleaning it, mining it and extracting useful information in such a way that it can be analysed to make decisions for a company. The project focused on making us understand the use of extracted information and data in order to make informed strategies for the company. We worked on FIFA data for a gaming company in order to recognize how many gamers around the world play their games and understand their behaviours. We in a team of 3 then made decisions such as what aspect should company focus on in order to increase their presence in Asian market. Project Name – Tourism app

Supervisor – Ministry of Information technology (India) and Indraprastha university Nature – Android and Java application

Duration – 2 years months (Sep 2012-Aug 2014)

The project was a tourism app development done as minor and major project for undergraduate course. It provided hands on experience with both Java and Android as we had to make both app for cell phone and a web application of the same. It was a credit worthy project and was supervised by director of ministry of information technology, New Delhi, India.
