Experience

Working as a GIS / Land Grants Specialist in the Department of Ras Al-Khaimah Municipality (July 2017 – Now).

-Assist the preparation of master and land use plans in terms for granting residential areas.

-Reviewing land grant applications, providing project management of land grant awards.

Planned and designed an affordable housing in Palestine (2016)

Here below all the steps that I made in planning and designing an affordable housing:

-I used the weighted overlay way (ArcGIS software) in site selection process.

-After collecting the suggested sites based on the firs point. I start an evaluation for the sites based on the sensitive criteria.

-I did the site analysis for the chosen site accordingly.

-I made the site analysis according to the regional and local location.

-I made a SWOT Analysis for the site.

-Based on the analysis that show the elevations, topographic, sun and wind analyses, view maps, rain maps, soil maps, human made effects, sewage lines, electric lines, available service and facilities around the site, in addition to the buffered area for the services locations.

-I determined the project program that includes the needs and the priorities for the project.

-I drew conceptual plan that shows the zoning and streets in the site of the project based on the above given plans and information.

-After several suggestions of the conceptual plan, I made a land use plan and a master plan.

-Then I started planning, drawing, designing detailed plans for every land used zone .

-I did a 3D model for the whole project and finalised 3D video for it as an advertisement for the project .

I was working as Urban Planning/GIS Engineer in the Planning and organization department in the Ministry of Local Government(MOLG) – Tubas, Nablus/Ramallah (2014-2016).

The following were my responsibilities:

-I used to prepare master plans for villages.

-Keep communicating with the Municipality to receive the community objections on the Master plans that I published before I am going to approve it.

-Delivering all the objections in addition to our comments and recommendation to the supreme council for organization.

-Create maps and graphs, using GIS software (ArcMap & ArcCatalog) and related equipment.

-Meet with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs.

-Conduct Research to locate and obtain existing databases.

-Gather, analyse, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS (ArcGIS).

-Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.

-Analyse spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.

-Design and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature representations.

-Enter new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.

-Analyse geographic relationships among varying types of data.

I have made a master and land use plan for “Al Aqrabanyea” village in West Bank - Palestine (Feb2013 -Jun2013).

-I have made a survey for the existing use of the building in the village .

-Digitise the data and establish a database for the village.

-Produce maps that shows the natural and the human made effects.

-Analyses the data and the maps and do SWOT Analyses (Strength-Weakness-Opportunities-Threats)

-Based on the collected and analysed data, I produce a suggested land use map.

-Show the suggested plans to the community and discuss it .

-Upon the community requirement and public needs, I decided the land use for the public facilities and services.

-Putting the polices for the village’s Master Plan after getting the approval from the planning and organization department in the Ministry of Local Government(MOLG).

-Produce the final Land use and Master plan.

I have made a strategic development plan for “Qusen” village in West Bank - Palestine (Sep2012 - Jan2013).

-I have made a survey for the buildings and land use in the village.

-Digitise the data and establish a database for the village.

-Use the data to produce maps that serve our study.

-Analyses the data and the maps and do SWOT Analyses (Strength-Weakness-Opportunities-Threats)

-Put my suggestions for strategic development projects.

-Involve the community in choosing the priority of the suggested projects.

-Taking community suggestion into the consideration and involve it in the strategic development plan.

Education/Qualifications

Masters of Science in Sustainable design of the built environment (Concentration: Urban Design) from The British University in Dubai (2020).

Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning Engineering from An-Najah National University (2016).

-I used to prepare a lot of master and detailed planes for the Cities, villages and neighbourhoods.

-I used to prepare a strategic plane for Cities and villages.

-I have the ability to analyse data, produce maps and to deal with the satellite images through the geographic information system software (ArcGIS) ArcMap.

-I have the ability to make planes using AutoCAD.

-I have the ability to use 3D software such as ArcScene, infraworks and SketchUp.
