The Lusail LRT Project is a prestigious project awarded by Qatar Railway Company to QDVC & Alstom, to build and develop 37 LRT stations in Lusail City, a new township in Qatar.
Principal Responsibilities:
I am responsible for managing the overall Labour HR Management functions with specific emphasis on the welfare services of migrant workers. This is consistent with QDVC’s vision in providing a high level of working conditions for the migrant workers to ensure that the aspects of health, physical and mental well-being are maintained. At the peak of mobilization, the number of workers deployed on the project was in excess of 3,500 comprising a diverse workforce of over 37 nationalities.
I supervise and administer the Workers Staffing and Resourcing, Welfare activities, Grievances and Disciplinary process for 4 LRT sub-projects i.e. At Grade Stations, Underground Stations, Systems for Tunnel Ventilation, Communication Systems and Environmental Control Systems and the Depot.
Liaise with the Talent Management department of QDVC Head Office in coordinating the staff & workers recruitment activities such as screening and shortlisting candidates in various profiles / trades to meet the requirements of the 4 sub-projects.
Responsible for ensuring the smooth mobilization and on-boarding of staffs and workers for all the project sites.
Organize the daily logistical requirements for the delivery of food (lunch and dinner) to all workers in all 4 sub-project work sites.
Liaise with the Section Managers in all project work sites to organize events planned for workers such as Safety training programs, celebration of project milestones and worker’s recognition awards.
Manage staff and workers grievances, disputes, and incidents of indiscipline and initiaiting disciplinary action and ensure that disputes are resolved amicably.
Active member assigned by the project for Workers Welfare Committee.
Overall responsible for the LRT project in coordinating with QDVC Head Office for the processing of Staff and Workers Immigration matters which include renewal of RP and issuance of Visit Visa and Business Visa.
Coordinate with QDVC Head Office for the annual medical insurance renewal, insurance claim reimbursement and attending to enquiries.
Manage the mandatory operational reportings to ensure timely and accurate submission.
Oversee the workers daily time attendance and processing their timesheets for submission to the Payroll department.
Supervise the full range of Labour HR activities including the mobilization, internal and external transfers, demobilization and repatriation.
Ensure that the HR & Administration processes are compliant with the quality standards set by the QHSE and Quality departments.
Maintain accurate and updated employee data, files and other HR related information in HRMS software.
Experienced in establishing and managing staffing status reports to track current and long-term manpower requirements, plan and take initiatives for mobilization and demobilization activities as per deadlines of the project.
