M Tech Project : FABRICATION OF SOLAR STILL AND FIN OPTIMIZATION USING CFD ANALYSIS Description: Solar still is a simple innovation for desalination of water in small scale without energy consumption. An optimized number of fins at the basin region of solar still enhances the rate of heat transfer. A CFD analysis was conducted to optimize the fin. The shape of the fin with minimum shade region was selected.

B Tech Main Project : RECONDITIONING OF COMBINED NEEDLE THRUST BEARING Organization : HMT Machine Tools Ltd, Kalamassery, Cochin Description : The Combined Needle-Thrust Bearing is a special purpose bearing which is used in Heavy Duty Machines. Due to the continuous use of these machines, the worn-out of the contact surface of inner race and thrust outer race of the bearing will be higher. To avoid the idling of these machines during the lead time of purchase of new bearing, a trial of reconditioning of the existing bearing was made.

B Tech Mini Project : FABRICATION OF COOLING TOWER IN STEAM POWER PLANT Description : The aim of our project is to design a cooling tower to remove the heat from the hot water which is coming from various devices from steam power plant and hence to cool the water to a minimum temperature as much as possible and to use for recycling of cold water.
