RESUME
SUMMARY OF WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINING INTERN
• Preparing blast hole patterns for production drilling for both underground and open pit environments.
• Exploration drilling of samples to estimate the mineral reserves, shape and size of the orebody
• Blasting operations that consider the blast design parameters per method of mining taking into consideration the precautions with the use and handling of explosives
• Monitored the loading and hauling by earth moving machinery of waste and ore with respect to the engineer design plan of moving a weekly target volume of material.
• Appreciated the processing department that involved crushing, screening, grinding floatation to name a few processes and the different procedures taken to extract a particular product that was mined.
SALES AGENT
• Sold products using solid arguments to prospective customers.
• Performed cost-benefit analyses of existing and potential customers.
• Maintained positive business relationships to ensure future sales.
• Expedited the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction. GEOLOGICAL INTERN
· DRILLING AND PRELIMINARY CORE LOGGING
The process involved determining the structural boundaries and geological features intercepted and that are to be measured. It also entailed depth registration that helps with understanding the properties that lie at different depths within the in-situ rock.
· DOWNHOLE SURVEY
Used probes to get the azimuth and inclination of the drilled hole and the tele-viewer was used to obtain pictures of the walls picking fault and joints structures.
· CORE LOGGING
It entailed describing the geology and lithological contacts highlighting the presence of structural features that are present which include faults and fracture zones. Comprised of four components
1.Detailed geology logging– describing the ore noting lithological contacts. Essential description includes weathering intensity, contact shape, core quality, alteration type. 2.Discontinuity logging-consists of defining the structure type (joint, fault) and determining the dip (alpha) and dip direction (beta) of the encountered structure types. 3.Geotechnical logging– Described the geotechnical properties of the encountered lithology. Took into consideration in analysis the weathering, hardness, micro defect strength and the intensity of the rock mass examined, recording the rock quality designation (RQD). 4. Major structures logging– Involved identifying deformation characteristics, describing the deformation severity (moderately or highly fractured), describing the micro defects present.
· SAMPLING
Determined the strength parameters of the rock which helps in model development in terms of understanding the failure characteristics the rock can endure with depth. Sampling consisted of point load testing, basic friction angle testing, uniaxial compressive strength testing.
· DATA ANALYSIS
Analyzed the production advancements of the mining activity examining the wall structure after blasting and related the Information to the already existing structural models to check for deviations in the slope angle designed.
· PIT SLOPE MONITORING
Used survey and monitoring equipment (SSR, GEOMOS) to predict failure and to monitor the general behavior of the pit walls overtime.
ATTRIBUTES
Vast expertise in engineering project risk management, hydrogeology, mineral project evaluation, construction management and environmental impact assessment. I enjoy working on my own initiative but also highly believe two heads are better than one hence my great interpersonal skills and communication skills that provide a calm environment for team members collaborative work. In a nutshell; I am a reliable, trustworthy, hardworking and eager to learn, with a genuine interest and passion for both Mining and Geological Engineering.
