The process is similar to refineries and slurry services, Solid handling, flammable Liquids, Gases & Vapors like hydrogen & Benzene, Steam Generation, Captive Power Generation, Co-generation Plant, Utilities such as Water treatment, cooling towers, Cooling water, DM water, Effluent treatment as well as storage tanks. Held key engineering assignments that have included the responsibility for overall Instrumentation and Control Systems lead Engineer on major projects from front end conceptual design phase, estimating, planning through detailed design and implementation phase to System Factory Acceptance Tests, field checkout, commissioning and start-up, preventive maintenance during plant shutdown and attending plant emergencies, routine maintenance and condition monitoring.

Working with Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd., Vadodara - India June Gujarat I was 2016-State overall June Fertilizers in 2020 charge & Chemicals and actively Ltd at Vadodara, involved India in maintenance activity of Instrumention and control systems of all the 4 plants at GSFC Ltd. and my experience is described in brief as follows.

I can read schematic diagrams, control wiring and execute new installation independently. Commissioning and maintaining instrumentation and control systems, Uninterrupted Power Supply systems, Storage Batteries, Fire alarm and Gas Detection system etc.

Very good knowledge and experience of process control and monitoring, alarms and process monitoring report management system.

Routine and preventive maintenance as well as condition monitoring of Instrumentation system to prevent breakdowns. Preparing preventive maintenance schedule and implementing without affecting utility supply. Problem-solving abilities combined with hands-on experience with programming of PLC and DCS systems.

Prepare specifications, raise procurement indents, and maintain inventory levels and stores to meet minimum and maximum spare/consumables. Train employees and educate them to achieve the highest level of goals set up by the organization. Can manage and independently handle group of people in assembly section, repair shop or manufacturing establishment. Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 standards and procedures audits to meet the requirements of Quality, Occupational safety and Health and Environment standards. 2013-Gujarat I was 2015 transferred State Fertilizers to Project & Chemicals Division Ltd where at Vadodara, I was a part India of New 45 MTPD Nylon6

(PA-6) Project. Process licensers were M/s. LURGI (now Technip and later Liquid Air Oxygen) Germany. I got opportunity to carry out HAZOP study at M/s Lurgi, Germany.

The Detail Engineering of the Project was carried out by M/s. Tata Consultancy Engineers (TCE), Bombay. Field Instrumentation was selected as per hazardous area classification. Technical scrutinity of the offers of various instruments like Differential flow meters, Coriolis Mass flow meters, Magnetic flow meters, Vortex flow meters, Radar type Level transmitters, Vibration type level Fork switches, Displacement type level transmitters, control valves, RTDs, high pressure transmitters. Also prepared I/O details, process Interlocks and scrutize vendors for Distributed control system technically. The Plant was controlled by Foxboro make Invensys (now Schnieder) DCS system with 3000 I/Os. Also Panametrics (Now GE) analyzer for high purity O2 was used for monitoring nitrogen quality. Gas detection system using Sieiger and Crowcon gas detectors, fire alarms systems FS90+ from Honeywell using EBI Software were commissioned.

Along with Plant Instrumentation, I was assigned to look after selection, technical scrutinity, installation, erection and commissioning of various Package units like Pneumatic conveying system(Coperion make), VAM Chiller (Thermax make), Nitrogen cleaning and drying system, Under Water Granulator (M/s. Maag - Germany), Bagging System (Chronos Richardson make). June Gujarat I was 2007-State given May Fertilizers 2013 additional & Chemicals responsibility Ltd at Vadodara, of Nylon6 India Plant (Polyamide 6) Instrumentation maintenance activities.. The Plant was old and was controlled by FUJI make DCS system. I was assigned to upgrade Obsolete DCS system to latest one. Hence prepared latest I/O list, Field JB details, Marshalling rack details and converted to Centum-XL DCS system.. For this work, I was trained for Yokogawa DCS system and also carried out FAT of the system before commissioning of the same.

New Bagging machines were installed (load cell type Net Weigher) of Chronus Richardson make. Installed Gas detection system using Seiger and Crowcon gas detectors, fire alarms systems FS90+ from Honeywell. 2005 Gujarat I was -2006 State actively Fertilizers involved & Chemicals in Complete Ltd at Vadodara, Instrumentation India project, planning, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning for a Batch control Plant to manufacture 1200 MTPD capacity MEKO Plant (Methyl Ethyl Ketone System) from inception. Activities involved designing, preparing loop schematics, selection, procurement of instruments, prepared cable tray layout, installaton, erection & commissioning of Instruments. The whole process was controlled with ABB (Bailey) make Freelance 2000 DCS Control system. It was procured, installed, commissioned using HART transmitters of Emerson Management System.

Jan Gujarat Worked 1995 State in -June Caprolactam-Fertilizers 2005 & I Chemicals Plant looking Ltd at after Vadodara, maintenance India activities related to Instrumentation. Field maintenance activities included checking of all type of Transmitters (mainly Flow, Level, Pressure & temp) & Switches (vessel / equipment mounted) . Also calibration of field instruments were carried out. Being Old Plant few instruments were Pneumatic which were converted phase wise to latest technology Electronic one. Panel side maintenance activities included conversion of Pneumatic controllers (Taylor / Foxboro) make to microprocessor based Electronic controllers. Process safety Interlock systems & Emergency shutdown systems were relay based which were replaced by Siemens make ET200 series PLC systems. Also scope of work includes calibration of Paramagnetic type Oxygen analysers (ABB & Siemens make), Hydrogen analyser (Thermal type), NOX analyser (Thermo Environment SA make). Control valve maintenance activities were carried out which included stroke checking, gland filling, passing test, diaphragm check, Trim inspection etc. Worked in Instrumentation Workshop and Electronic Shop looking after inspection, testing, repairing, calibration of process control Instruments. Oct Gujarat Joined 1993-State as Jan a Fertilizers Graduate 1995 & Engineer Chemicals Worked Ltd at Vadodara, in Scheme India dept where I carried out implementation of small modifications by preparing loop schematics, preparing BOM, procurement and execution of scheme.
