FLASH is an important application summarizing on DST shareholder activity data and making this data available for other business functions. FLASH is one of the five applications of the Accounting & Settlement Platform within CRMC. The new system ‘FSR’ to replace FLASH is expected to bring in certain wide ranging benefits. The purpose of this project was to describe the approach for migrating data from the existing FLASH table to the Oracle tables in the new FSR application. It also details out the data conversion rules and the testing approach. The FLASH application was using ADABAS - a mainframe-based database. The new FSR system will use Oracle database in place of ADABAS.
